There’s someone for pretty much everyone, though some think that Mihoyo may have overdone it with the small anime girls this time around.
Earlier this week,Reddit user Bulky_Wasabi5882pointed out that while there is a wide range of female characters to play as, the same can’t really be said for the male characters, and they expressed their desire for more “handsome boys” to be added in the future. That desire seems to be quite widely shared among players at the moment, with some hoping that Mihoyo delivers in the near future.
Those requests make a lot of sense when you actually take a look at the game’s full roster of playable characters. Right now, there are 13 different female playable characters to choose from, and while that’s not a bad thing, it’s a little disappointing when you realize there are only four playable male characters. You also have fans pointing out that, while Ben Bigger, Von Lycaon, and Billy Kid are great, Anton Ivanov is the game’s only playable human male character at the moment.
Zenless Zone Zero Fans Think The Game Is Lacking Male Characters
Some in the thread have pointed out thatyou can pick Wise instead of Belle at the startfor a little more variety, but it only really papers over the cracks. Thankfully,the game’s launch trailerseemed to have several unannounced human male characters teased in it, so hopefully Mihoyo will be pushing them out sooner rather than later to try and combat this emerging complaint. You can never have enough handsome boys after all.
It seems like this is a very minor nitpick though, and fans seem not only pleased with the characters we have at the moment, but the quality and personality of them too. We could also take a page out of Reddit user Adj_Karasu’s book, who explains that they “have Billy and that’s all I need.” Hard same.
