Summary

Earlier this yearKonamirevealed Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection, a collection of the very firstYu-Gi-Ohgames coming toNintendo Switch. However, there was no mention of whether the collection would be released outside of Japan. Fast forward a few months and not only do we have confirmation that the Early Days Collection will indeed be released worldwide, but you can pre-order it now through Amazon and Best Buy.

The full range of games included in the collection has not yet been revealed, however, confirmation that at least one title previously exclusive to Japan further cemented the belief that the Early Days Collection would only be released in Japan. Now that we know it will be available worldwide, that means Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists will officially be available to play outside of Japan for the first time ever, almost a quarter of a century after it was originally released in Japan.

It might be a quarter of a century by the time that happens since the Early Days Collection doesn’t yet have a release date. Best Buy and Amazon have placeholders in the release date slots on the game’s listings right now. That means there’s nothing on Best Buy and June 04, 2025 on Amazon. Amazon tends to use New Year’s Eve as a placeholder date when no release date has been confirmed. Hopefully we won’t have to wait that long for the collection to be released.

The only other title confirmed to be a part of the collection is Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2, originally released on theGame Boy Advancein 2001 in both Japan and the rest of the world. Konami has promised more titles will be revealed but hasn’t confirmed how many games will be a part of the collection. Now’s the time to start wildly speculating and putting wishlists together for what you’d like to see make the cut. So far onlyGame Boyand GBA games have been confirmed, but that doesn’t meanPlayStationtitles won’t join them in the collection.
