Summary
Price hikes are rarely welcomed. Only a couple of months back, the rumor mill started to turn, suggesting anXbox Game Pass price hike was imminentthanks toCall of Duty. That, as of yesterday, was proven true.
Alongside the price increase, changes to the wayMicrosoft’ssubscription service could be stacked were announced, leading to mass confusion and a flood of players looking to cash in before the increase.

Players Rush To Save
The price increase, which also included anotherXbox Game Passsubscription tier, was called"Confusing" and “Absurd"by players as they took to the internet to complain. Subscription stacking was one of the most contentious points.
Players can now only stack 13 months of Xbox Game Pass on consoles, down from 36 months previously, thwarting a common practice in which players would purchase various deals, which would then convert and stack to longer membership periods.

With this now no longer feasible, and a price increase to contend with, players have been seeking out the cheapest deals online to load up their membership before September’s increase.
One major beneficiary of this is the code-selling websiteCDKeys, which has seen its three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription jump to the top of the best-sellers list. It’s overtakenMinecraft: Java & Bedrock EditionandElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeto claim the top spot, with the one-month Ultimate subscription sitting in fourth place.
With CDKeys' prices already significantly cheaper than the equivalent when bought directly from Microsoft before the price increase has even been factored in, it’s little wonder that players have been flocking to save a bit of money, especially given the state of the global economy, where every penny now counts.
