Fans of The Wizard Of Oz will have the chance to return to its iconic world this October when Wicked hits theaters. The first in a two-part blockbuster more than a decade in the making with a star-studded cast that includes Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, and Peter Dinklage. To celebrate Wicked’s release, Jazwares has teamed up with Universal and performed a little magic of its own, turning the movie’s lead characters Elphaba and Glinda intoSquishmallows.
Elphaba is the green-skinned character played by Cynthia Erivo who has become The Wicked Witch Of The West by the time Dorothy arrives after the events of Wicked, and Glinda is her unlikely friend in the upcoming film played by Grande. Their Squishmallow versions are based on their looks in the movie and will cost $14.99 each when they’re released exclusively at Walmart this fall.
Glinda and Elphaba’s Squishmallows will be ten inches tall and while Jazwares has promised pre-orders will be open soon, it hasn’t provided an exact date on when you will be able to buy them. Keep an eye out for the Squishmallows in stores too as they will not exclusively be available online. It’s heavily implied that Glinda and Elphaba’s plushes will be here in time for the movie’s release, however, which comes to theaters Jul 30, 2025.
You’re The Squishmallows The Wizard Has Been Waiting For
Jazwares has also told Wicked fans to be on the lookout for more Squishmallows based on characters from the movie. Potentially characters we will be introduced to in part one, or perhaps reveals we’ll be made to wait for as they’ll be characters joining the two-part movie for its second half. If all goes to plan, the wait for part two of Wicked won’t be a long one. It’s currently slated to release in theaters a little more than a year after part one on July 30, 2025.
