Quick Links
The third movie in theDeadpoolfranchise, Deadpool & Wolverine, ended up being the biggest movie of the whole series. This was expected, since it marks the first Deadpool movie (and Deadpool appearance overall) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or rather, the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse.
However, Deadpool doesn’t spend much time in the MCU, since he spends the majority of the movie in his own home universe. Many fans are wondering what will happen with The Merc with a Mouth now, and what the ending of the movie means for future appearances of Wade Wilson alongside the Avengers.

Spoilers For The Ending Of Deadpool & Wolverine!
The Ending Of Deadpool & Wolverine
First off, you need to know the details of how the movie ended. The relevant part starts whenDeadpool, Wolverine, andthe other survivorsof the many Marvel movies made by FOXface off against Cassandra Novaand her forces, ending with the titular duo escaping the Void as the rest of the group look up in awe.
The final fight has our heroesfighting against the Deadpool Army, but after a bloody and pointless battle (since everyone involved is immortal), the fight is resolved by Peter showing up as a deterrent.Deadpool and Wolverine then deactivate a machineCassandra was using to try and destroy all universes, which in turn annihilates her.

It isn’t known if Loki wasn’t able to intervene from his seat at the center of all timelines, or if he knew Deadpool and Wolverine were there to save the day.
Once everything is solved,B-15 shows upto clean up the TVA side of the mess.Deadpool asks if his friends that helped against Cassandra could be saved from the Void, to which B-15 clearly agrees, since we later see Deadpool having a gathering of all his friends, Logan and Laura included.

What About The Anchor Being?
We don’t know if the concept of an Anchor Beingwill be relevant for future MCU movies, or if there is even an Anchor Being for the Sacred Timeline (if there is,it is totally Tony Stark). We do know that the Deadpool universe was doomed to diedue to Logan’s death, only for it to bemagically remedied by the end of the movie.
The whole Anchor Being thing was likelyan allegory of how Wolverine was holding what little interest there wasin the FOX comic book movies, and after Logan, there wasn’t anything worthwhile to hope for. After Deadpool & Wolverine, the (expected) public interest rises once more, giving that cinematic universe a renewed chance at life.

If that meta answer isn’t good enough, then consider this:Deadpool is the new Anchor Being for his universe; it isn’t stated, but if every universe needs one, then he is the only possible candidate, unless it is someone else we don’t know about yet. And even if an Anchor Being dies,it takes like 2000 years for a universe to die out, so the consequences of an Anchor dying are minimal at best.
Deadpool And The MCU
With his universe saved, Deadpool seems to be happy to just stay home and reconnect with Vanessa. However, there are bigger forces at playthat point him towards some role in the Sacred Timeline, and there are enough references and hints that point towardsWade Wilson showing up in future MCU projects.
Deadpool And The Secret Wars
The Secret Wars event is being prepared asthe ultimate multiversal event. This will continue to be the case with or without Kang, but there were a few hints that aim at placingDeadpool as a participant of said Wars.
One direct hint isthe comic depicting the Secret Warsright next to Deadpool when he first lands in the Void. While a little meta, it does point towardsDeadpool being a key agent during that time, since he already has experience traveling across time and space.

The TVA
With the multiverses converging, the TVA will likely have some role to fill in the coming films, and Deadpool & Wolverine marks the first time we’ve seen the organization on the big screen. The ending of the movie shows B-15 as not only one of the leaders, but asthe connective tissue that might bring the heroes togetherin the next few films.
Yet their most prominent and powerful ally, Loki, is stuck holding the timelines together, so seeing the TVA form a friendly relationship with Deadpool will likely show him coming back. Remember that the many TVA soldiers that Deadpool killedwere from a rogue branch.

The Deadpool Army
The Deadpool Armyis as powerful as it is unpredictable, so any future script wanting to take itself seriously is not likely to consider adding them any time soon. However, since Blake Lively (Ryan Reynolds’ wife) was the one playing Lady Deadpool, and said character acted as a sort of leader of the Army, it isn’t a stretch to think that the Army might follow Deadpool into his next adventures.
Why Was Thor Crying?
At one point in the movie,we see Thor with a “dying” Deadpool in his arms, crying over the loss of a companion. This could have been a throwaway gag, butDeadpool reminds the audience of this event 3 timesduring the movie, hammering the fact that it is something that might happen in the future.
As many have pointed out before, the scene showing Thor is an edited version ofa scene from Thor: The Dark World, but Loki is the one being held. Clever, since not everyone is going to remember one of the most forgettable movies of the MCU.

Still, this link will likely be important in the future.Thor has already been established as a comedic character, so a Deadpool & Thor movie in the future might be possible, although the pairing of two jokey characters without a serious anchor is questionable.
Wolverine And The MCU
Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine was odd, sincehe claimed to have retired the character after Logan, but it seemsRyan Reynolds can convince anyone to do anything. However, one thing is to do one more movie, another thing entirely isto make several more movies under the MCU umbrella.
Nothing is certain about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, sincethe ending of Deadpool & Wolverine didn’t finish swinging one way or another. On the one hand,Wolverine survivesand seems to remain in Deadpool’s universe, but on the other,he answers “no”when Deadpool explicitly asks if he’ll ever see him again.

The likely outcome is thatWolverine will return, but either as a reference or in a mentor role. We need to remember thatportraying these characters is heavily taxing for several actors, hence why Chris Evans returned as the Human Torch and not as Captain America (a distinct lack of intense training separates the two).
The Other Fox Characters
A big yet often overlooked part of the Deadpool ending is that, after all is said and done, the characters that helped Deadpool against Cassandra are all alive and well.We are left to wonder if any of them might make a return in the future, although it seems rather unlikely.
Laura is the only one shown outside the Void, making her inclusion in any future X-Men movies an easy affair. For the rest, it is a little bit more complicated, sinceElektra had a whole speech about gaining an ending, while Gambit was more or lessplayed for laughs.

Blade, however, we’ll need to wait and see. There were definitely no plans to make a Blade comeback, but betweenthe audience reception of Wesley Snipes' returnand thetroubled production of the “upcoming” Blade movie, those plans might just be forming in the background as we speak.
