Not all side quests are equally important inPath of Exile. While rushing through the campaign, you should only focus on the quests that reward a Passive Point, a Passive Refund Point, or a Quicksilver Flask in some cases. Aside from these, you should not bother with any other side quests, especially at the beginning of a new league.
Deal with the Bandits is an important quest in the second act. Depending on your choices during the quest, you can either get a Passive Point or a powerful bonus. To help you make an informed decision, here is everything you need to know about Deal with the Bandits.
Path Of Exile Deal With The Bandits
To start the Deal with the Bandits quest,you need to reach the second act. Once you arrive in The Forest Encampment, speak with Eramir to learn about the bandit leaders causing problems in the region. This is where you will need to make an important choice:you can either kill the bandit leaders or side with them.
There are three bandits whom you will need to deal with.Each one of them offers a unique passive bonus, but if you are inneed of a Passive Point, you’re able to always kill them. If you decide to kill them, make sure tocollect their amulets and bring them to Eramir in The Forest Encampment to get a free Passive Point.
If you are playing in a party,everyone must choose the same option(Help or Kill) to progress the quest.
Helping Kraityn
You will find Kraityn in Broken Bridge. To get there, you will need toenter Crossroads from the Old Fields and then into Broken Bridge.
If you decide to help Kraityn but kill Alira and Oak, you will geteight percent permanent movement speed. It can be excellent to zoom through the campaign, but once you are in maps, there are much better buffs than eight percent movement speed.
Helping Alira
Alira can be found in the Western Forest. You should be able to enter this area from the Riverways. It is important to note thatAlira is always on the opposite side of the Weaver’s Chamber. Helping her while killing the other two banditsgrants you 15 percent to all Elemental Resistances. This is a huge buff sinceyou get -60 to all Elemental Resistances at the end of the campaign.
Even after reaching the endgame, it can be a bit hard to cap resistances, sohelping Alira is a very viable option, since you are only losing out on one Passive Point instead of two.
Helping Oak
You will find Oak in The Wetlands, which you may access from the Riverways. If you decide to help Oak while killing Alira and Kraityn,you will get +40 maximum life. This is another excellent buff, especially on classes like Ranger that do not have access to a lot of life nodes on the tree. We would still recommend getting Elemental Resistances from Alira, but if you are capped out on them, having 40 flat life is not a bad idea.
Killing All Bandits
Lastly,if you want to have one extra Passive Point,you should kill all bandits, collect their amulets, and bring them Eramir in the Forest Encampment. Aside from the Passive Point,you will also get The Apex quest item, which is needed toaccess the Ancient Pyramid and complete the second act.
You should definitely considercompleting the Sacred Ground quest,as it now provides a Passive Point and twoPassive Skill Refund Points.

Change Your Bandit Choice
If you everwant to change your decision,there is a Vendor Recipethat you can make. However, since it requires 20 Orbs of Regret, it can be a bit pricey to do so in a league start scenario. For the recipe,you simply need to vendor 20 Orbs of Regret with a specific amulet(detailed below) to get aBook of Reform.
If you want your 20 Orbs of Regret back,you can simply vendor the Book of Reform.
Once the Book of Reform is acquired, you right-click on it to gain passive bonuses from a specific bandit.
