If you’ve been playingGenshin Impactfor a little while, you’re likely already used to the grind of farming various materials at different locations whenever you get a new character. While this grind was made a little easier during the Version 5.0 update, you still have to do it to an extent.
Mualani is a five-star Hydro character wielding Catalyst as a weapon, and she’s the first five-star Natlan unit to be released in the game. This also means that you couldn’t pre-farm for her ahead of time, so here are the materials you’ll need to get.
Mualani Ascension Materials
Whenever you get a new character in Genshin Impact, the first thing you have to do is ascend them to a specific phase and level them up. This canonly be done after you’ve reached a specific world level for each ascension, and here are the materials you’ll need for Mualani’s ascension:

Apart from the materials mentioned above, you’ll needcharacter EXP materials and Mora separatelytoupgrade Mualani’s levels.
you may obtain Varunada Lazurite crystals by fighting various World and Weekly bosses that drop the item alongside certain time-limited events. Moreover, the whistle mob dropscan be farmed from Sauroform Tribal Warriors found all across Natlan. The world boss required by Mualani can be found in the Huitztli Hill area of Natlan as well.
Finally, the Sprayfeather Gills are locatedalong the river found in the Ameyalco Waters area. You can only get a few of them every two days, so it’s recommended to try joining other player worlds and get more drops there if they still have it available.

You’ll need one Crown of Insight to get the level ten upgrade for each talent, and you’ll needthrice the amount of materials mentioned abovefor all of Mualani’s talents.
You’ll have to unlock and farm theNarwhal weekly boss to getthe Lightless Mass drop while the Contention books will take you to the Blazing Ruins domain of Natlan, andyou can only find them on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday server time.
