Visions of Manatakes a very action-oriented approach to its combat. In sharp contrast to its predecessor, you have complete freedom over the Classes you use and when. Each element has an associated Class, letting you build a party with a massive amount of variety.
With each Class also comes a dedicated upgrade tree called an Elemental Plot. As you progress through them, you may find that the later upgrades are becoming more than you’re able to afford. Well fear not as even though the game does not tell you, there is a way of resetting your Elemental Plot and redistributing those points again.
How Do You Respec?
When you first unlock the Elemental Plot, the game does not deign to inform you that you’re able to, at a certain point, reset your Elemental Plot again. It may assume it’s a given, and upgrade willy-nilly under the idea that it will be a simple process. Unfortunately,it’s not as easy as you’d hope.
In Visions of Mana, there is only one way of resetting your Elemental Plot upgrades, and that’sthrough the use of an item called a Goddess Scales. These are one-use items that reset the Elemental Plot of the character it is used on, refunding all their Elemental Points spent to be used again as you see fit. This does not reset Elemental Plot Expansion items either, so you’ll still have your expanded plot to upgrade.
The first Goddess Scale you can unlock in the game is in Chapter Five, so you’ll be locked into your choices for quite a while.
If you’ve used Gold Clovers to create Elemental Points, these will be refunded as well, thoughthey will stay as Elemental Points on the character they were used for, rather than turning back into Gold Clovers.
Where Do You Find Goddess Scales
Goddess Scales are found in a variety of locations and by a few different means in the game.The very first you can encounter in Chapter Five, while the rest become available throughout Chapter Seven. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of all the Goddess Scales you can find:
If you find your Goddess Scales through quests and discovery, or if you buy them from the Dudbear, this will give you exactly five Goddess Scales,precisely enough to respec the entire party once.
Can You Respec Infinitely?
Unlike most other items in the game,Goddess Scales are of a finite supply. So while the chance to respec is possible, you’ll want to be very confident in how you redistribute your points in case you don’t get the opportunity to do so again.
Make sure tosave before any usage of the Goddess Scalesso that you can reload in case you make any mistakes during the reallocation of your Elemental Points.
