Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddessis a game that is undying committed to its own direction. There are no concessions in how it embraces Japanese culture and Buddhist mythology, or in how it combines action with Tower Defence. That same commitment also applies to some of its more unconventional mechanics.

Sweets! They are painstakingly detailed collectibles you will gain as you travel across Mt. Kafuku. you’re able to give them to Yoshiro as a little treat at bases, as thanks for her great work. But what exactly do these sweets actually do, and where do you find them all? Read on to find out.

What Do Sweets Do?

It is so rare for a mechanic to exist in a game that doesn’t serve some gameplay purpose somehow. Yet that is exactly what the sweets are. They are a beautiful recreation of some lovely delicacies, alongside a snippet intotheir cultural relevanceand how they’re made.

There really isnothing more to them. You can place one on the plate at each base inside Yoshiro’s tent, and if you wait long enough she’ll start eating them, lovingly dissecting them as she goes. They also look astoundingly gorgeous.

Each sweet is saved per location, meaning you can leave Yoshiro adifferent sweet at each base. As a treat.

Where To Find Every Sweet

Each sweet in Kunitsu-Gami is a reward in and of itself forhow gorgeous theylook. And because how how gorgeous they are to look at (and eat, considering how much Yoshiro loves them), then it only makes sense that you’ll want to find more.

There are12 sweets to findin total. Each and every one of them are found by doing repairs in your various bases after completing missions, and it is possible to get all of them before finishing the game.

Minazuki

You get Minazuki by completing theKannon Statue Repairs in Kakeashi Grove.

Inoko Mochi

Inoko Mochi can be gained after completing theField Repairs in the Enri Villagebase.

Yokan

This sweet is found by completing theShrine Repairs in the Okumiyama Passagebase.

Ohagi

This sweet is found by completing theShrine Repair in Moegi Ridge.

Uguisu Mochi

This sweet is found by completing theHouse Repair in Yuminari Lake.

Hozuki no Namagashi

This sweet is found by completing theShrine Repair in Adashino Village.

Sakura Mochi

This sweet is found by completing theKannon Statue Repair in Renge Marsh.

Hichigiri

This sweet is found by completing theShrine Repairs in Kamakura Shrine.

Kohakuto

This sweet is found by completing theLantern Repairs in Great Cherry Tree of Nakahara.

Momiji no Namagashi

This sweet is found by completing theShrine Repairs in Korai Valley.

Kashiwa Mochi

This sweet is found by completing theHouse Repairs in Kiritake Village.

Tsubaki to Matsu no Namagashi

This sweet is found by completing theHouse Repairs in Yamasuso Lodgings.

And that is all the sweets! Though they may not give you anything in terms of mechanics, they’re worth collecting just to look at and make Yoshiro happy.

They also give a lot of cultural context for how they’re relevant in Japan, so they serve a pretty cool educational purpose too!
