InFields of Mistria, every day counts, and you’ll have to juggle different activities like farming, mining, fishing, and fulfilling villagers' requests to contribute to the town’s growth. However, some tasks will take you from your peaceful farm life into the Mines to find certain materials while fending off monsters.
You begin with a basic sword, and many villagers generously give you their old tools. However, there’s one crucial piece of equipment you lack: armor. Your ragged clothes won’t protect you from the dangers lurking in the Mines, and as you unlock new biomes with stronger monsters, the need for proper armor becomes increasingly important.

There arethree possible ways to acquire armorin Fields of Mistria.
Crafting
Outside March’s house, you caninteract with the Anvilto craft a variety of tools and equipment.Armor is also crafted at the Anvil, but you’ll needmetal ingotsto make it.
There are currently60 floors in the Mines, and after every 20 floors, you’ll enter a new biome. So far, the game only allows you to explorethree biomeswithin the Mines: the Upper Mines, Tide Caverns, and Deep Earth.

From these biomes, you’re able to gatherCopper Ore,Iron Ore, andSilver Ore, respectively, and these ores can besmelted into ingots, which can then be forged into armor.
However, the entrance to the Tide Caverns and Deep Earth is closed shut by amagical seal. To break the seal, you’ll be tasked withgathering certain items, which you’ll have to offer at the altar.
Blacksmith March’s Shop
While crafting is a great way to save a few Tesserae, if you’ve got some spare coins and prefer convenience, then swing byBlacksmith March’splace. You’ll find all kinds of tools, armor, and even ores that you can purchase from him.
Treasure Chests
While exploring the Mines, you might come acrosstreasure chestson its various floors. These chests come inthree types, ranging fromwood to gold chests, and hold valuable loot likeores,crafting recipes,cosmetics, andsometimes even armor pieces.
Gold chests, in particular, offer thebest rewardsand have ahigher chance of containing armor pieces.
To increase the likelihood of chests appearing in the Mines, you should invest in theTreasure HunterandTreasured perksfor Mining.

How To Equip Armor
Unlike cosmetics, which can simply be equipped in the character customization menu, you’ll need to head into theequipment tabof yourbackpackto equip armor. Here, you only need todrag the type of armor into its respective slotto enjoy the increased defense.
However, it’s worth mentioning thatarmor doesn’t visually appear on your character, though thedefensive boost is still active, and only cosmetics can change your attire and overall look.
