You are a meta-human in the survival horror world ofOnce Human. In this MMORPG, you will be tasked with hunting Deviants and helping survivors. In doing so, you’ll be collecting resources and crafting various tools and machines.
There are several communities where different merchants have set up shop situated across the region. Meta-humans can buy certain items from them, but those unavailable at the stores may be found inVending Machineowned by other meta-humans. If you’ve got items to sell, you can set up a Vending Machine too!
How To Unlock The Vending Machine
The Vending Machine is a technology that you can unlock in theMemetics menu. You can find this under theLogistics branch.
Unlocking this will cost you500 Ciphers or Meme Pointsand700 Energy Links.
Meme Points or Ciphers can be obtained byleveling up, accomplishing Season Goals, and securing new Deviantsduring a season.
Energy Links can be earned when you completeexploration tasks and commissions, and cleardungeons.
Unlike other Memetics, there is no prerequisite needed to unlock the Vending Machine. You can do so as early as possible, but you shouldn’t unlock itunless you have an idea of what you want to sell.
How To Set Up The Vending Machine
The Vending Machine is a facility that canonly be placed on your territory. You will want it positioned somewherevisible and accessible to meta-humanspassing by.
How To Build A Vending Machine
To build one,enter build mode. This is set to’B’by default. Once in build mode,right-click to open your build menu. You’ll find the Vending Machine under theFacilities tab.
Head to theFunction Facility tab, then select the Vending Machine from the list ofSpecial items. You can place it down once you have all the required materials.

A Vending Machine will not function withouttwo watts of supplied electricity. You will need to attach it to a power source such as aSolar Generatorusing a wire.
How To Sell Using The Vending Machine
Press ‘F’ while in front of the Vending Machineto open its menu. On your left you’ll see all the items you can put up for sale. On the right, you’ll see what you have on your machine’s shelves.
The Vending Machine shelves are what isvisible to meta-human shoppers.
Select any item for selling by left-clicking it. Another screen will appear where you candecide how many of each item you’ll be sellingand for how much.
Under the Settlement Method, you have the option to useItem Exchange or Energy Links.
Using Item Exchange will allow you to set your item to beavailable for tradefor any particular item you want. Using the Energy Links option will allow you toset the unit price of your item.
The maximum amount of Energy Links you may set as a price for an item is99999.
When you’re happy with the price of your item, you canclick ‘Put Up For Sale’ or press ‘F’to add it to your shelf.
How To Advertise Your Vending Machine
You can advertise the different items you have in your Vending Machine to other meta-humans andboost your sales.

Think of something that captures everything you have up for sale in order to entice meta-humans to come visit your Vending Machine. When you’re happy with what you’ve written,press ‘Enter’ to complete it.
You’ll be given the option topublish your slogan. This is broadcast to the world via the world map.Press ‘On’when you’re ready to start advertising.
While you can set up multiple Vending Machines on your territory,at a time. Make sure to put up a slogan that captures everything you’re selling.
What Should You Sell In The Vending Machine
When thinking of what to sell using your Vending Machine, you shouldconsider your location, what you need, and what you have. Different types of meta-humans will be passing by your territory depending on where you’ve set it up.
Earlier areas, such as Meyer’s Market, will have meta-humans who have just started andmay not have access to certain crafted goods.
Higher-leveled areas may have veteran meta-humans who have acquireda lot of new itemsfrom areas that are difficult to explore.
If you’re determined to make your Vending Machine a profitable business,have your territory situated beside a teleporter or a safe zone.
Safe zones are frequently visited, and meta-humans will be coming there to look for items to buy from the merchants. This is a good place to live next to if you’re looking forfoot traffic and spending intent.
If you’re crafting a lot, you may find that you’rerunning out of a certain type of material.
Parts that are obtained from scraps are especially difficult to farm because you can only get those from exploring. You can set up a Vending Machine thatsells items in exchange for those partsto save yourself time and effort.
If you’re trying to unlock a lot of Memetics, you can startrunning low on Energy Links quickly. You can sell resources that are easy to find in bulk, or you cancraft items that you can price higherfor their scarcity.
A lot of meta-humans will be requiringHide,Gravel, and various oresas they craft new tools and machines. You should consider selling these in bulk if you have a lot of these lying around.
Food items and water are especially great items to sellbecause of how taxing it is to make them and how quickly they can spoil.
For those who would rather go out exploring without preparing their own lunch,a Vending Machine stocked with food is a lifesaver.
An especially hot type of item to sell for all types of meta-humans isan item that grants buffs. If you have a Deviant that allows you to craft a unique item, such asUtter Delight orSpring Legs, you may produce and sell these.
Rarity and difficulty to produce will allow you to sell it for ahigher amount of Energy Linkscompared to easily obtainable resources.
