Summary

Wuthering Waves’ penultimate challenge is the Tower of Adversity. Like theSpiral Abyss in Genshin Impact, this permanent end-game content runs you through a gauntlet of powerful enemies. It can be intimidating to step foot into the Tower for the first time, but doing so yields lucrative rewards.

While building teams for the Tower of Adversity takes a lot of time and effort, the end result is well worth it. Not only will you be able to quickly obtain important leveling materials, but you’ll have multiple, fully-developed teams with which to tackle subsequent events and quests as Solaris-3 continues to grow and evolve.

There are three zones in the Tower of Adversity, each progressively difficult: Stable, Experimental, and Hazard. For the purposes of this article, we will be focusing on tips and tricks for the Stable Zone and early Experimental Zone stages.

9Aim For Level 40 Resonators In The Stable Zone

You’ll want to level your characters toat least level 35(though you’ll have aneasier time at level 40) before challenging the Stable Zone, which will unlock the Experimental and Hazard Zones. The Stable Zone consists of one area divided into four stages. The first three stages are waves of Tacet Discords (TDs), while the last is a fight with a single boss.

By focusing onleveling up your characters and experimenting with team compositions, you’ll be better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the Experimental and Hazard Zones.

8Bring Your A-Game Echoes

The Tower of Adversity gets tough very quickly, so you’ll want to milk every bit of support you can get from your Echoes. Focus on outfitting your characters withfully-tuned Echoes while maximizing Sonata effects. Take a close look at your character’s builds and choose your Echoes accordingly.

Two popular strategies for Echo combinations are to run either 4-3-3-1-1 or 4-4-1-1-1 (each number reflects an Echo cost). Whichever strategy you choose depends on your character builds, available echoes, and overall battle strategy.

By focusing ontuning your Echoesand optimizing your character builds, you’ll be better prepared to face the escalating challenges of the Tower of Adversity. This approach enhances your team’s performance and helps you navigate the tower’s tough stages with greater ease.

7Budget Your Vigor

The Tower of Adversity runs on a vigor system. All characters start out with 10 vigor points, and each stage costs a certain amount of vigor. Once a character runs out of vigor, you cannot use them for the next stage. Vigor is only consumed within each zone but resets between towers.

You can reset the stages in the Tower of Adversity, allowing you the opportunity to redo the stage and vigor and increase your chances of winning crests.

This means that you have tobe strategic with vigor management and utilize multiple teamsto complete each zone. A strong strategy is to use your strongest team for the first and last zones, allowing you to quickly clear the first zone while still saving your heavy hitters for the boss. Your secondary team then has enough vigor to easily sweep the middle zones.

6Develop Multiple Resonator Teams

The key to success in the Tower of Adversity is having a few key teams with powerful characters that can adapt to multiple types of enemies. At a bare minimum, you will need two built teams, but you’ll have an easier time with three. The first few stages of each zone consist of increasingly difficult TD mobs, while the last stage is a boss fight. Develop your teams accordingly!

Make sure that your DPS characters aren’t all the same element! Differentiate your resonators to effectively address any enemy the tower may throw your way.

Taoqi and Yuanwu in Wuthering Waves

Each team should consist of a DPS, Healer, and either a Sub-DPS or Support. Characters that can provide Hybrid Support (support and attack abilities) are ideal.

Right now, the most effective healer in the Tower of Adversity isVerina. Not only is she a powerful healer, but she also provides off-field party-wide buffs.

5Lean Into Area of Effect Attacks

Many of the stages feature wave after wave of TDs. While you may attack each TD individually, this is not an effective strategy and is a good way to run down the clock. Byleveraging large area of effect (AoE) attacks, you can clear TD wavesbefore they have a chance to start inflicting major damage on your characters.

Most TD mobs tend to spread out across the battlefield, so characters that can pull them into a single location can make a big difference. Focus on developingJiyan,Jianxin, orYangyang’s resonance abilities to maximize their crowd control potential.

4Leverage the Swap Cancel Technique

TheSwap Cancel technique is most effectively paired with Quick Swapbattle strategies, where you regularly cycle through your characters, triggering all their resonance skills, echoes, and combos in quick succession.

The ideal team composition for Quick Swap strategies is two DPS characters, one support character, and a Bell-Bourne echo.

A Swap Cancel happens when you activate a character’s skill and then immediately switch to a different character. The first character will activate their action before leaving the field and will be immune to all damage and effects. Meanwhile, you can still use the second character to attack. With practice, you can have all three characters on the field at the same time, inflicting a massive amount of damage.

3Experiment With Hyper Carry Strategies

Depending on your team composition, Hyper Carry is another powerful battle strategy. The idea is tosupport a single DPS, who will be responsible for 80 to 90 percent of the damagedealt. By maximizing support character buffs, DPS characters can carry out their combos to their ultimate potential.

This technique is particularly effective with characters like Jiyan, Lingyang, andJinhsi, with high critical hit stats and continuous attack skills. Diversifying battle strategies allows you to effectively use your roster of characters to create multiple teams to conquer the Tower of Adversity.

2Build Off-Field Damage Buffs

Anyhelp that your characters can give off-field can make or break clearing a zone. Two strong candidates, in addition to Verina, are Taoqi and Yuanwu.

1Note The Stage Buff And Enemies

Pay close attention toeach stage’s unique buffs and enemy compositionbefore committing to a team. By hand-picking your team to address each stage’s parameters, you increase your chances of success.

Elemental resistance is brutal in Wuthering Waves, reducing damage by 50 to 70 percent! This means that using characters with the wrong elemental attacks can severely handicap your team’s performance.Creating multi-elemental teamswill provide maneuverability to address any scenario the Tower of Adversity throws at you.
