That was until Devolver dropped the very welcome bombshell that its ambitious adventure will be released on May 09, 2025.
Not only that, but if you have PS Plus Extra or Premium, The Plucky Squire will be included with your subscription. There was a concerning lack of info on a physical release for the game in that release date announcement, but that has now been rectified. There’s good news and bad news, though. The good news is not only is The Plucky Squire getting a physical release, but there’s also a deluxe edition. The bad news is its physical editions won’t be here until May 17, 2025.

All Possible Futures' The Plucky Squire is an adventure game ripped right out of a storybook. A children’s book’s hero, Jot, has to not only overcome his universe’s challenges but also face the unknown when he is flung from the safety of his 2D pages into the real 3D world.

The Plucky Squire’s deluxe edition, which will also be released on June 24, 2025, if all goes to plan, includes a copy of the game with some exclusive physical goodies thrown in. Available on PS5 and Switch, the extra $20 you’ll throw into the Devolver pot will get you a 108-page art book, The Plucky Squire’s soundtrack on CD, and a collector’s box. I get the feeling this is going to be a game a lot of people will remember for a long time and go back to even after they’re done. If you think you might be one of those people, it might be worth the extra $20 for its deluxe edition.
The Plucky Squire’s deluxe edition doesn’t get you anything more in-game than the standard version. It does get you some snazzy physical stuff connected to the game though, including an artbook and a copy of its OST.
The Plucky Squire will be released on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 13, 2025, coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium day one. The physical version, both its standard and deluxe editions, will only be available on PS5 and Nintendo Switch, releasing on July 11, 2025.
