It’s no surprise to see Sylveon appear among the most expensive Guardians Rising cards, given thatEeveelution cards are frequently among the most valuableand sought-after cards in the Pokemon TCG. What does come as a surprise is Sylveon’s multiple appearances on this list.
Guardians Rising’s most valuable cards are packed with such an even blend of cards, but this Sylveon won’t be the last we see.
The bright pink and white color scheme makes this card pop, giving it one of the most visually distinct artworks in the entire set.
8Lightning Energy (Secret) – $19.11
Catching Lightning In A Bottle
Energy cards are frequently included among the Gold Secret Rares in a variety of sets, but they’re infrequently found among the expensive cards. At almost $20, Lightning Energy does providea beautiful matching color paletteto synergize with the Gold Secret Rare design.
While Lightning Energy makes a great case for its inclusion given the perfectly matching color palette, this isn’t even the most valuable energy card in this set, as there’s fierce competition among Guardians Rising’s items.
7Enhanced Hammer (Secret) – $20.28
Smashing The Competition
Speaking of item cards,the Enhanced Hammer is another bizarre item that breaks traditionby bursting into the top ten. Despite not being an iconic item from the anime series or the video games, the Enhanced Hammer sits handsomely above the $20 mark.
Shockingly, this card hasn’t lost most of its value (as many other cards in this set have) but has seen anastounding $16 increasefrom its prior heights to where it sits now. This incredible jump is one of the most impressive ever seen for an item.
6Grass Energy (Secret) – $20.55
Seeing Green Everywhere
Grass Energy offers perhaps the most tame entry of the remaining expensive cards from Guardians Rising, as this card doesn’t boast a beautiful color palette nor has it seen meteoric rises in value.
Instead, thisGrass Energy has maintained a nearly identical value over the past year or so,barely fluctuating away from the $17 range, but recently sold for a bit over $20. Given the sudden spike, we canexpect this card’s market price to fallonce more sales around the $15-20 range are recorded.
5Double Colorless Energy (Secret) – $21.93
An Energy Card Takeover
The Energy beat keeps rolling on, this time with the Double Colorless Energy offering an unusual artwork for an energy card.
The refreshing design shakes up the standard monochromatic background seen in the Grass and Lightning Energy cards.
Double Colorless Energy also maintains a stable value in the $20-23 range, though it has seen a recent rise that puts its market price just under $22. There’s no telling where it may land, but this Energy is likely to maintain the top spot among its direct peers in Guardians Rising.
4Mallow (Full Art) – $26.89
Representing Alolan Trainers
Mallow carries the pride of Alolan trainers on her back as the sole Trainer card to appear among the most valuable Guardians Rising cards. Some ofthe most valuable full art Trainer cardsfeature bright, eye-catching color palettes and poses, much like this gorgeous Mallow card.
The bright pink flowers complement the background well, and provide an excellent accent to Mallow’s dark green and gray colors.
Mallow has fallen off quite a bit, however, as she sits far from her previous high of $44, tumbling down, and losing out on a higher place on the list.
3Rare Candy (Secret) – $28.29
A Rare Sight Near The Top
Rare Candytakes the crown for the most valuable non-Pokemon cardin Guardians Rising, beating out multiple Energy, Items, and even Mallow on its path to the top three most expensive cards in the set.
Unlike some of the prior items, Rare Candy is an iconic item in the Pokemon series, sitting alongside Poke Balls as perhaps the most recognizable item. Although it fell from its $32 perch, it’s possible this card can move up to second place if it sees a strong rebound to its previous highs.
2Alolan Ninetales GX (Secret) – $29.14
Freezing Out The Item Invaders
Alolan Ninetales isthe perfect candidate for a Rainbow Secret Rare recolorsince its usual monochromatic pattern leaves plenty of blank space to fill in with every color in the rainbow. Ninetales' calm pose and elegant design give this card incredible appeal.
Following the trend in this set, Alolan Nintetales has dropped in price, but it’s not far off from the $36 high that seems to be just a small distance away compared to how far some others have fallen.
1Sylveon GX (Secret) – $60.80
A Fairy Phenom
This isn’t the first time that a Rainbow Secret Rare topped the charts in a Sun & Moon set, as Charizard sits atopthe most valuable Burning Shadows cards, and is likely the most famous Secret Rare of the generation.
Sylveon’s simple color palette provides the perfect canvas for the Rainbow Secret Rare recolor.
Eeveelution cards are difficult to dethrone, as evidenced by some ofthe most valuable Evolving Skies cards, and this Sylveon likely won’t give up the top spot soon. Like most cards from Guardians Rising, Sylveon has fallen off in value, but its recent resurgence bodes well for the future of this card.
