Summary
Fan-made projectsare a huge part of the modern gaming landscape, with players taking an existing game and shaping it into something of their own. The highest-profile of these launched last month, as Fallout: London, a mod that required a full development team, becameavailable for download. Now, not all projects are as large or ambitious as Fallout: London, but that doesn’t make them any less great.
One of these exciting projects was recently released by prominentBanjo-Kazooiemodder Kurko Mods, whose latest creation sees him combine the Bear and Bird as they visitThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker’s Hyrule.

Banjo-Kazooie Bear Waker Deluxe
The Legend of Banjo-Kazooie: The Bear Waker Deluxe is a full experience containing 21 Jiggies, 125 Notes, 20 Mumbo Tokens, five Jinjo, and 12 Honeycomb Pieces for players to collect.
Set on and aroundWind Waker’sOutset Island, with visits to other famous locations likeHyrule Castle, players are free to explore as the legendary duo to collect everything available.
Many of Wind Waker’s famous characters and enemies have been replaced by those fromRare’sBanjo-Kazooie. Characters like Mumbo Jumbo make an appearance, turning Banjo into a bomb and allowing him to reach new locations, and various enemies like Treasure Trove Cove’s crabs look to slow things down. One character who does manage to stay the course, though, is none other than the King of the Red Lions, Link’s boat and traveling companion from theGameCubeOriginal.
Banjo-Kazooie Bear Waker Deluxe is just one of many projects Kurko Mods has in the works, the most ambitious of which is Banjo-Kazooie: Nostalgia 64. Nostalgia 64 is a combination ofSuper Mario 64and Banjo-Kazooie that sees players jump into paintings of otherNintendo 64games, thus entering their worlds. Players will have the chance to play through levels from titles likeGoldeneye, Yoshi’s Story, andPokemon Snap, as well as finding hidden areas based on popularGame BoyGames.
This latest Wind Waker-inspired game takes around an hour to complete and is great for a dual hit of nostalgia. It can be downloaded from a link onKurko’s YouTube channel.
