In the third episode ofAce Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, the stakes only seem to get higher (despite this case taking place entirely on the ground, which makes a change!). The Kidnapped Turnabout features as many twists and turns as a Haunted house full of mirrors, and it both starts and ends with exactly one of those.
This episode sees the introduction of a very important person, the return of some fan favourites (and Wendy Oldbag, who may be nobody’s favourite), and plenty of puzzles and cross-examinations to ace. Below, you’ll find our totally spoiler-free walkthrough for the episode.
Investigation: Isolation Room
After the rather shocking introduction, you’ll begin this episode by meeting Kay Faraday, who will be a very important character throughout the Investigations duology. Talk to her about her being a Great Thief and the Yatagarasu and you’ll be able to start your investigation, namely into how to escape.
Begin byexamining the following:
Talk to Kayabout the kidnapping, and she’ll move.Examine the doorto look through the slot andexamine the open floor panelon the ground in the other room.
With that done, we can finally start using the clues withlogic!

This will reveal thepresence of a locked hatch underneath the blue tarpand provide you with another clue, which you should use in further logic combinations:

This will officially complete the first investigation, but there’s more to do before we get to the next one.
Through the next cutscenes, you’ll reunite withGumshoeand meetAgent Lang and his assistant, Shih-na. Once the scenes are over and you regain control over Edgeworth,talk to Kay and Gumshoe about every dialogue optionyou have. This will introduce you to Mr.Amano, who you shouldalso talk tountil you’re out of options.
Investigation: Wild West Area
Begin this investigation by chatting to the person in theBlue Badger costumeto the right.Speak to himabout everything, and when prompted to show a piece of evidence that contradicts his statement,present the Badger Photo Rally.

Examine the footprints again, which will lead you to the garage door on the right. Examine it to continue, and then examine thewoundand thependanton the screen you’re presented with.
Afterwards, use Edgeworth’sDeductionability on thevictim’s necklaceand use thePreliminary Findingsas evidence of a contradiction.
This contradiction will end the investigation and lead right into the first cross-examination of the episode.
Cross-Examination: Meekins’s Testimony
This testimony concludes the very first section of the episode.
After the break, you’ll be at the Stadium -talk to Ema about her two dialogue choicesand thenexamine the Pink Badgermobilenearby to meet the next character you’ll need to interrogate.
Aftertalking to Oldbagabout the things she witnessed, you’ll head straight into a formal cross-examination.
Cross-Examination: What Oldbag Witnessed & Investigation: Stadium
This will lead directly to an investigation that takes placeduringthe cross-examination.
There are only a few steps to take here.Examine the bodyon the ground andpresent Mr. Deacon’s Murder Notesto show what’s missing. This will allow you to make a deduction.

With that done, head over to Ema and talk to her about footprint analysis. The ensuing scene will lead usback to Oldbag’s testimony:
This will take you back to the investigation using Kay’s device.Walk over to the left and examine the stageto get another clue, and then make a finaldeduction:

When you regain control, examine the killer’s body in the middle of the stage to complete this investigation/cross-examination hybrid. Lang will turn up to pressure you again.

After the scenes and the quick break, you’ll be back in the Wild West Area with Amano.Talk to him about every option, and thentalk to Lauren Paups next to himabout her dialogue options.
When prompted to choose a place to investigate, pick theKidnappers' Hideoutand thenspeak to the officer in blue to the leftto proceed.
Investigation: Kidnappers' Hideout
This is the penultimate investigation of the case, so there’s a few things to uncover here.
Examine the following:
Once you’ve gathered all the clues, it’s time for some good old-fashioned logic.

Speak to the Proto Badgerwho will now appear, and thenpresent the Pink Badgercostumethat’s still in its box when prompted. Make a final logic connection to proceed:

When examining the costume, take acloser look at the torn open handand its main body, beforeDeducing the right handwith theBlue Badger Bibleto make the connection.
With this, the chapter ends. Before you can enter the final stretch, though, you’ll be prompted toexamineyet anotherbadger costume- examine thenecklaceto continue.

Amano will show up with some new evidence. When prompted,examine the glass in the head, thebullet hole, and thegun.
Cross-Examination: Decisive Evidence
This will end this very long string of cross-examinations and end up revealing some new information. This will lead you to the final stage of the case, a long investigation.
Investigation: Haunted House Recreation
Before this investigation officially starts, you’ll be prompted to help recreate the scene. When asked to point out where Edgeworth’s assailant was hiding,present the circled ‘B’.
When given control, examine themirror, and thenBad Badger costume standing with a long weapon. When asked to suggest a weapon, present theBroken Prop Swordand test it withLuminol.
When the scene updates,Deduce the swordand present theBroken Prop Swordto find a contradiction. This would contradict theMissing Model Gun.
After learning about the disappearing badger trick,head to the end of the hallway and examine the seated Blue Badgercostume. Examine the costume closely, and thenDeduceit, presenting theBlue Badger Bibleas evidence of a contradiction.

When asked to suggest why they built a mirror-wall,present the Gatewater Land Pamphletand state that the trick is carried out bymoving the mirror-wall. Then, suggest that theempty corridor behind the mirror-wallwas where the killer hid.
When asked to point out the next contradiction,present the end of the empty hallway- there’s a missing Badger! Suggest that the real identity of the mystery Badger was Colin Devorae bypresenting the Victim’s Costume.
