Summary
WhileThe First Descendantstill continues to drawhuge player numbers,Nexon’sfree-to-play title remains a frustration for fans.
Theoveruse of Bunny, aggressive microtransactions, and paints that looknothing like the ones advertisedhave been bugbears for the community thus far, and now, with the game’s pre-season well underway, discontent remains.

Seasonal Challenges Are “A Bit Much”
One player sharedtheir dissatisfactionon The First Descendant’s Subreddit. They asked their fellow Descendants if they thought one of the game’s seasonal challenges was excessive, to which there was a fairly unanimous response. The challenge in question requires players to defeat 200,000 enemies, with the original poster sitting at just shy of 57,000.
With only a short window to hit this massive milestone, one player said, “Most of the challenges are way too inflated for the average gamer,” adding, “Heck, it’s a grind for even those who put a lot of hours into the game.” Another player, who claimed to have put 260 hours into the game, racking up around 130,000 kills, proved this theory.

Claiming that using Bunny is the only real way that players will be able to complete the challenge, 100,000 kills was deemed a fairer challenge for players to hit, but even then, it was still brandished boring, withplayers sayingthey “don’t have the patience to just run in circles as Bunny.”
It seems like another misstep from South Korean developers Nexon, as the game recently hit an all-time low player count on Steam of just over 60,000. Comparatively, although different genres,Once Human, a free-to-play title that was released around the same time as The First Descendant, continues to maintain aconsistent player count of over 100,000.
