On the surface,Dungeonbornemay seem like a game all about swords, shields, and melee attacks that stand against any challenging monsters in a dungeon. But deep within its core lies a class that’s so underrated that it opens up the possibilities of new ways of experiencing the game. Meet the Druid, a character so powerful, there’s perhaps no need to rely on swords or shields.

Druids are masters of sorcery and have wonderful spells and tricks up their sleeves that are extremely useful in the dungeon. However, it’s not as easy as it sounds, and mastering a Druid’s gameplay loop can take you a while.

Druid’s Abilities

With the ability to transform into a panther at the press of a button, and even call a Treant to help you out, Druids can feel like they’re playing a different playstyle from any other character in the game. A player who has mastered a Druid’s abilities will be someone who canquickly switch between different skills.

There are several Passive abilities to support your Active ones. It’s essential to keep in mind thatDruid’s main attacks revolve around two playstyles. Firstly, use Primal Awakening by pressing Q to turn into Panther Form, and secondly, use spells to create attacking and defensive abilities with your staff.

Description

Primal Awakening (Q)

You transform into a panther and have an increased movement speed of 100. Additionally, all negative effects on your character are removed as it consumes 30 points of primal energy. After enabling this, 4 points of primal energy are consumed every second. Once this energy is depleted, you transform back into Human Form automatically.

Force of Nature (E)

Summon a Treant who will be your ally in battle. For 30 seconds, this Treant will attack nearby enemies as well as give your Druid a shield.

Predatory Senses

When in the Panther Form, you are able to sense enemy players within 25 meters of a radius.

Your Human Form can store an additional charge.

Hunter’s Focus

When in Panther Form, using Shadow Assault returns an additional 20 points of Primal Energy when you damage enemies.

Natural Swiftness

Force of Nature’s cooldown time is reduced by 10 seconds when in Human Form.

Nature’s Breath

Force of Nature adds a shield to the Treat when it is summoned. Additionally, Regrowth adds a shield to the target when used and lasts for 30 seconds.

When playing as a Druid, you will beusing Primal Awakening as your movement-based ability, as well as attacks, as if playing a skirmisher who likes to confuse enemies. However, it can be easy to keep an aggressive playstyle, which you don’t want. In reality, you’ll have to balance your defensive and attacking abilities.

In the Panther Form, you restore about 30 Primal Energy. This is a form of currency that’s unique to Druids and acts as a form of resource every time you transition into this form.

How To Play Druid

With the power of nature on your side, playing a Druid can be a highly rewarding experience. There’s an added layer of safety to your gameplay style, as the Panther Form and Treant can act as supporting mechanics in battle.

But, the moment you’re back in your Human Form, it’s important to keep in mind thata staff is your most reliable weapon, and using a variety of elemental damage can make you a resourceful member of a squad. Or, a threatening enemy to monsters if you’re playing solo.

It’s tough to pinpoint one single way of playing as a Druid. Instead, mix and match these abilities to observe which playstyle suits you the best. We recommend first deploying a Treant to distract your enemies and then turning into your Panther Form to either get away from a situation or dive into battle. Additionally, using a staff beforehand can set the tone of battle, creating elemental damage that deals considerable damage to enemies.

The damage you do as a panther is often based on the weapon you had equipped beforehand. Before transforming, make sure you have your favorite staff equipped.

Build And Gear

While it’s uncommon for Druids to rely on swords and shields, they can one-hand swords, letting you do melee damage in a traditional sense. This is a good strategy for newcomers who are just starting to get a sense of a Druid’s gameplay loop.

Armor

It’s essential to know that Druids use Leather armor, and equipping them with a “heavy” build doesn’t really do much.A Druid is supposed to be fast, versatile, and someone who can quickly blend into their environment. For this reason, there are certain items and gear you can consider investing in.

Consumables

Traditional Dungeonborne players know the value of consumables in the game. These itemsnot only boost your survivability but also grant you buffsthat can help in battle. For the Druid, some consumables are great choices when in the midst of battle or starting out in the dungeon from scratch.

Remember, theseconsumables are purchasable from the Merchantbefore you enter the dungeon. So, keep a few in your inventory before stepping in, rather than relying on loot mid-game. Moreover, damage-dealing items like the Incendiary Flask and Thunderclap Flask can be used as backup weapons in case your staff or abilities don’t work in favor of the challenge at hand.

Try to boost your Will up to 45, as it lets you have more space to make use of Shadow Assault more effectively.
