Godzillais one of the most powerful monsters in the entire franchise. Towering over humanity and having the ability to regenerate any damage done by manmade weapons, Godzilla is nearly impossible to deal with. However, there have been some instances where Godzilla has been forced to team up with monsters and even humans to deal with a bigger threat.
Team-ups can be a blast, resulting in some of the most interesting fights in the series. This can take the form of a tag team battle against aliens or even one of the coolest moments in Godzilla history. These are Godzilla’s greatest team-ups.
10Kong And Godzilla
Enemies To Frenemies
King Kong and Godzilla’s relationship has always been on the rocks, even when they first met in the 1970s. They finally clashed again in the Monsterverse but quickly became allies when they were forced to fight against Mechagodzilla.
This partnership offers a unique dynamic between the two monsters. With Kong being the more empathetic monster of the two and Godzilla being the more chaotic, it is interesting to see the two put aside their differences and their pride to help each other fight bigger threats.
9Mothra And Godzilla
A Special Relationship
Godzilla and Mothra have often been portrayed as adversaries. The first time they clashed, Godzilla succeeded in killing the giant moth. It also wouldn’t be the last time Mothra met a fiery end. Despite this relationship, Mothra has also come to Godzilla’s aid at crucial times.
This includes her appearance in Godzilla Final Wars, where Mothra helps Godzilla fight against Monster X and the newly upgraded Gigan. In the Monsterverse, Mothra is also shown to mediate between Kong and Godzilla, with the franchise joking about their special relationship.

The First Team-Up
Team-ups with more than one monster involved are always more fun. When King Ghidora attacks Earth, it’s up to Mothra to convince Rodan and Godzilla to fight against the three-headed invader. However, both monsters are reluctant to help out during the battle.
This leads Mothra to fight King Ghidora alone. After watching Mothra fight against King Ghidora, Godzilla and Rodan finally step in to lend a hand, not wanting to watch the larvae take a beating all on her own. Godzilla and Rodan would team up again in the sequel, Godzilla Vs Monster Zero.

A Guardian Arrives
When a Godzilla doppelgänger starts attacking cities, humans quickly realize that something is terribly wrong. After uncovering the mechanical horror posing as the King of Monsters, it’s up to the real Godzilla to step in. However, is he enough?
Luckily, in Osaka, a family has control of a family guardian. This guardian is the legendary King Caesar. After singing a song to wake him up, Caesar joins Godzilla in the fight against Mechagodzilla, and together, they are able to triumph over the bionic terror usingbrute force and magnetism.
6Godzilla And Jet Jaguar
A Childhood Hero
When the underwater city of Seatopia is threatened by nuclear testing, the denizens of the ancient world send up their monster, Megalon, to enact revenge. They also call in assistance from the Space Hunter Nebula M aliens, who send aid in the form of Gigan.
Luckily, Godzilla steps up to fight, and to aid him, a robot called Jet Jaguar grows in size to match the alien invaders. Together, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar form a tag team to take on the alien and underworld invaders.
5Godzilla And Moguera
The Might Of Human Tech
In the Heisei era of films, Moguera was originally designed as a way to destroy Godzilla. During a trip to space, however, it encounters a Godzilla-like creature, later dubbed Space Godzilla. With humans on their way to extinction, they redirect the Moguera’s original programming.
Godzilla appears and fights Space Godzilla. However, the fight tilts in favor of the galactic doppelgänger. This is until Moguera is piloted towards Space Godzilla, effectively damaging it enough to give the true King of Monsters the upper hand.
4Godzilla And Anguirus
Enemies To Pals
Anguirus wasthe first enemy monsterto be featured in a Godzilla film. While they would naturally fight during their first encounter, the Showa era of films often portrayed them as allies. In Godzilla Vs Gigan, the two monsters relax together until Godzilla senses something wrong.
Together, Anguirus and Godzilla travel through the ocean to reach the site where Gigan and King Ghidora have appeared. They attempt to fight the pair and even stick together when the fight turns bloody. In the end, their teamwork pulls through, and they rid the world of the invaders.
3Godzilla And Minilla
Godzilla’s Son
Godzilla’s son Minilla may not be the toughest monster in the franchise, but that doesn’t stop Godzilla from caring. Originally hatching from a mysterious egg, Minilla is adopted by the King of Monsters. The rest of the film chronicles Godzilla’s attempt to teach Minilla how to be a monster.
This includes using his atomic breath and roaring. When the giant spider Kumongus ensnares Minilla, Godzilla shows up, and together, they defeat the arachnid. As the island is covered in snow due to a weather machine, they both go into hibernation.

Humans To The Rescue
Despite his towering size and atomic abilities, Godzilla is often helped out by humans over the course of the series. This can mean humans infiltrating the alien bases where the enemy monsters are controlled or even lending a hand by piloting machines like the Moguera or the Atragon into battle.
One of the most iconic moments in the Monsterverse set of films is when Godzilla and humans fight side by side against King Ghidora. Piloting helicopters and jets, they arrive and lead a suppressing fire against King Ghidora’s heads.

The Avengers Of Godzilla
The ultimate team-up is by far the one that occurs in Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. When the Kilaaks, a feminine race of aliens, invade by taking over the minds of all the monsters, they soon send King Ghidora to join the fight.
Luckily, the monsters break free, bringing together creatures from past Godzilla titles and evenstandalone Toho films. This includes, monsters like Varaan, Anguirus, Kumonga, and Minilla show off their unique skills to take down their ultimate foe. A team-up as big as this has not been seen on the big screen since then.
