It wouldn’t be a Sledgehammer title without the presence of the STG44. The iconic Sturmgewehr 44 is back inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it’s arguably one of the game’s best assault rifles. A forgiving three-hit kill with excellent range makes this gun behave more like a battle rifle than a traditional assault rifle.
Of course, you can use the Gunsmith to morph this weapon into something that better suits your playstyle. Today, we’ll share a build for the STG44 that turns this weapon into an aggressive powerhouse, rivaling some of the game’s best assault rifles and primary weapons in general.
How To Unlock The STG44
The STG44 can be unlocked inSector 7 of the Season 5 Battle Pass.You don’t need to purchase the Season Pass to access this weapon; it’s available to all players. You’ll need at least 20 tokens to access this region. Once the season ends, it will be moved tothe Armory Unlocks system.
Best STG44 Loadout
The STG44 can comfortably three-tap enemies in core Multiplayer, but it’s held back by its low mobility and handling stats. This build addresses these issues by improving the gun’smovement speed, ADS speed, and recoilwithout hurting the gun’s lethality. Thanks to some new attachments this season, this is surprisingly easy to do.
To suppress our weapon, we run theStalker D9 Suppressed Barrel.This buffs your gun’s handling, range, and suppresses your shots with minimal downsides. We then use theA70 Venom Stockfor more ADS speed and general mobility. TheCitadel Gripthen reigns in some of that visual recoil. you may counter the aiming stability hit with the newParacord Grip, which doubles as a strafe grip. Throw onyour favorite opticto complete the build.
This configuration gives us an assault rifle with 230ms ADS speed, over 50 meters of effective range, and a high base movement speed of 5.3m/s. you may strafe quickly, land three taps from any distance, and benefit from slightly less recoil. It’s the perfect build for the STG44 in most game types. For Warzone, you might want to drop the stock for a larger magazine, but every other attachment should be fine.
Loadout Recommendations
TheModular Assault Rigsaw a massive buff in Season 5. It is now the perfect baseline for most weapon builds, allowing you to grab four perks and benefit from four equipment charges. We recommend runningGhostandCovert Sneakersfor stealth play,Scavenger Gloveto recover ammo from dead players, andCompression Plateto immediately trigger HP regeneration from kills.
Your equipment options are down to preference, although we recommendStimsif you fight aggressively. This allows you to regenerate your HP if you may’t land a kill. Throw in theMed Box, and you’ll be incredibly hard to kill.
