Summary

There are ten marriage candidates inFields of Mistria, some of whom have generational roots in the town, while others are only newly settled. For the most part, they’re all kind people who are happy to interact with you, though their personalities are well-nuanced.

You have a wide range of characters to choose from if you want to woo someone, though getting your hands on the best gifts is going to be difficult. Thankfully, most of the bachelors and bachelorettes are perfectly happy with easier-to-obtain items. You probably won’t be able to win someone over before spring is up, but you could before the year’s end.

Fields of Mistria Juniper Talking to the player

While there are romanceable NPCs in the game, actual marriage and romance are not fully implemented yet due to being in Early Access. However, development roadmaps indicate that marriage and children will be coming in future updates.

10Juniper

Ever Heard Of Ethics?

One of the first things that you might think about Juniper is that she’s a bit stuck up and likes luxuries far too much to be living in a small farming town. As you get to know her, you learn that’s not entirely wrong, and she has a bit of a goddess complex, so to speak.

However, the real issue with Juniper is that she regularly experiments with potions and magic and tests them out on you and the townsfolk without really telling them what they’re trying. Not all that ethical, and given that, it’s not all too surprising that she and Valen butt heads a lot. Unethical testing isn’t a great look, Juniper, especially when most of the town is just so sweet.

Fields of Mistria Balor Talking to the player

9Balor

Howl’s Moving Castle Vibes

Yes, Balor is strikingly reminiscent of Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle, and, in the same right, that leaves you to wonder just how eclectic he might be. Balor is a lovely man who is nice and always greets you with a smile.

However, he doesn’t seem like the type of person to settle down and has noted on a few occasions that, despite the residents asking if he’s here to stay, he just can’t bring himself to. Maybe you may change his mind, but at the end of the day, Balor’s heart belongs to traveling and the freedom of the road.

Fields of Mistria Eiland Talking to the player

8Eiland

In Pursuit Of Knowledge

As the head of the historical society, Eiland is absolutely in love with Mistria’s past. He regularly indulges in archeology and putting together the pieces of the past, though it’s often at the expense of potential safety and ethics.

On the second day you’re in Mistria, you’ll wake up to find Eiland chopping a tree on your property (ever hear of asking, buddy?), and he pushes relentlessly for the mines to be opened up, regardless of their safety. At the very least, though, Eiland doesn’t hesitate to get his own hands dirty and believes strongly in Mistira’s preservation and future.

Fields of Mistria Adeline Talking to the player

7Adeline

She’s Busy, And She Likes It

Adeline is busy all the time, but it doesn’t bog her down in the slightest. In fact, the moment that she’s caught up on her work, she actively seeks out more work to do - which, some could argue, makes her a bit of a workaholic.

However, she’s really easy to get along with, and you know that you’re always going to have a partner in crime with her by your side. Plus,Adeline is incredibly easy to wooif you get your hands on some tulip seeds and, when the Saturday market arrives, some coffee.

Fields of Mistria Celine Talking to the player

6Celine

Patient And Kind

Celine is incredibly patient and kind, and you can often find her working in her small garden on your way into town. Although her family owns the General Store, Celine is most often found in nature. If you want a cottagecore wife, then Celine is definitely the way to go.

On your first day in Mistria, she’ll give you a worn hoe and some tulip seeds to get you started. She loves just about every kind of flower, too, which makes it pretty easy to give her a decent gift. The only downside to Celine is that she doesn’t seem to have much ambition beyond going about her day.

Fields of Mistria Ryis Talking to the player

5Ryis

Teaches You New Skills

Ryis is the local carpenter and lives just outside of town. Similar to Celine, he is also notably kind and patient, willing to teach you new skills and develop them. He readily offers up his own crafting bench to you if it means that you’ll learn to do some woodworking.

He’s ready to espouse his love for most of the gifts that you give him and generally isn’t too picky - though you’re probably golden if you give him a feather. It’s also clear that he cares a lot about his family, too, given that he works closely with his uncle, Landen, at the carpentry shop.

Fields of Mistria Hayden Talking to the player

4Hayden

A Fellow Farmer

If you want a partner who knows what they’re doing on the farm and you can pool assets with upon marriage, then you should angle for Hayden. Of course, his being a fellow farmer isn’tthe only reason that you should attempt to woo him- he makes quite the impression when he first shows up.

With a bold attitude and a friendly demeanor, you almost feel like you could take on the world with Hayden at your side. He’s also an animal lover, and if that doesn’t win your heart over, little else will. Of course, the only downside to Hayden is that he does own his own farm and ranch, which means he might not have time to help out with yours.

Fields of Mistria March Talking to the player

3March

Win His Heart

March doesn’t make the best first impression: he seems wary of outsiders, and he is generally standoffish to you. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to worm your way into his heart, and once you do, you’re never leaving - he won’t let you.

March’s standoffish and rude demeanor is more of a shield than it is his actual personality. He’s awkward and nervous and maybe just a little bit grumpy.

Fields of Mistria Reina Talking to the player

But he takes pride in his work, and rightfully so - and he clearly cares a lot about his family, enough to go out of his way to learn to cook so that his older brother, Olric, doesn’t have to do it all the time. Plus, although he may be hesitant, he was still willing to help you learn blacksmithing.

2Reina

The Way To The Heart Is Through The Stomach

More often than not, you can find Reina cooking for everyone at the Sleeping Dragon Inn. She doesn’t just cook because it’s her job - Reina genuinely enjoys cooking and making sure that people’s stomachs are full.

Not only does she love food (and share her love through food), but Reina loves to read and is constantly thinking about others. She’s more than happy to share her passions with others and help them learn to cook, too, even going so far as offering to share her kitchen at the Sleeping Dragon Inn.

Fields of Mistria Valen Talking to the player

1Valen

Finally, A Good Doctor

Not only does Valen have a strong sense of ethics, butunlike a certain infamous Doctor from another cozy farming sim, Valen doesn’t steal your hard-earned money or supplies if you pass out in the mines. Valen is relaxed and humble and just wants what is best for the town and its health.

She might have a slight taste for the finer things, especially wine, but Valen is also just as happy with a cup of coffee. Her friendly demeanor (and lack of thievery) makes her and her clinic really inviting.
