A pop culture hit since the 1990s,Power Rangersdebuted as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The series introduced a group of teenagers with attitudes whose virtuous hearts gain the trust of an alien named Zordon to fight evil to protect Earth. They were granted power morphs, further enhancing their martial arts skills, all while dressing them in color-coded uniforms.

With each season, a new team of rangers fights evil, each having powers and abilities that differentiate them from one another. With a history spanning over 30 years of Rangers, we will rank which team was the strongest through abilities, weapons, and number of members.

Udonna

The Mystic Rangers were founded by Udonna, a powerful sorceress who once stopped the great evil known as the Morlocks. Now broken their seal, the Morlocks have terrorized the land of Root Core, causing Udonna to recruit five teenagers to stop this evil.

Starting off as a group of five, they are equipped with magic staffs and medieval weapons like swords, axes, and bows. Throughout the story, they gain three more rangers in Solarus Knight and Udonna as the White Ranger. The antagonist, Koragg, joins the team as Wolf Warrior.

In the year 3000, a mutant villain named Ransik is in a heated battle with the Red Ranger, Alex, who dies in battle. Ransik decides to break his fellow mutants from prison and escape to the year 2001, where the rest of the four rangers follow. Now stuck in 2001, the Rangers find a descendant of Alex in Wes and swear to defeat Ransik.

Animal themed rangers

The five rangers are equipped with blasters, sabers, and vector blasters. Eventually, they are joined by another 2001 resident, Eric, a soldier who becomes the Quantum Ranger.

A tribal man, Cole, gets sent away to the city because he has been trained in combat and needs to find purpose. Four rangers fight villains in the city of Turtle Cove, who need a leader. They meet Cole, who is great at combat and able to speak with wild animals, making him their Red Ranger to fight the demon-like Orgs.

Space themes rangers

The five rangers have a furious fighting style that matches their animal counterparts. While all have claws and sabers, each ranger has a unique weapon, such as Red’s Lion Fangs or Black’s Bison Axe.

Zordon

The Solar Rangers are mostly made up of preexisting rangers from different teams, such as the Green Ranger from Ninja Storm or the Pink Ranger from Mighty Morphin. They are taken from their time to fight against a multiversal threat. Two original heroes, the Purple and Orange Rangers, lead the team.

These rangers have their sabers, bows, and a chakram. Their power can fight entities in space, such as The Void.

Keeper

Millions of years ago, on Earth, a great power was entrusted to the dinosaurs called Energems. A being named The Keeper gave these dinosaurs the power to protect them from an evil named Sledge. Years later, some teams found said power and used it to protect against Earth’s destruction.

All rangers are equipped with powerful melee weapons such as choppers and drills. Dino Charge has one of the biggest rosters, totaling 11 Rangers.

Sensei

Shane, Tori, and Dustin, students at the Wind Academy, had to become the Wind Rangers to fight an intergalactic threat named Lothor.

Starting as a scarce three, the Wind Rangers join forces with rival villagers, the Thunder Rangers, Blake and Hunter as the Navy and Crimson Rangers. Another addition is the Green Samurai Ranger. While all are students in combat, they all have elemental abilities such as water and earth manipulation.

Astronema

Created by a cosmic demon, The Psycho Rangers aimed to kill their heroic space counterparts. They are some of the first villains to occur in another series.

The Psycho Rangers are equipped with swords and intergalactic abilities, such as teleportation and transforming into giant monsters. Psycho Pink was notable for killing Space Pink Ranger.

The original rangers

An alien named Zordon joins the original team. He calls five teenagers with attitudes to stop alien threats, such as Rita and Zedd. While each member has specific skills on their own, all are well-versed in martial arts.

As the cast came in and out, a mainstay and later addition was the green ranger, Tommy, who would later join the team as the white ranger. The team is equipped with blasters and melee weapons that can combine.

Evolution to mighty morphin powers

An evolution to the Mighty Morphin powers, the Zeo crystal, gives access to greater power for most of our heroes who debuted in Mighty Morphin, such as the Yellow Ranger, Aisha, and the White Ranger, Tommy, who is now the Red Ranger. They beat Rita and Zedd and now must face the Machine Empire.

While the Rangers have become more robust, they retain blasters and melee weapons. A sixth ranger joins the team in the mighty Gold Ranger, with the appearance of the original team leader and Red Ranger, Jason.

Pirate themed rangers

The Super Mega Rangers were a step up from the Mega Rangers in many ways. Rather than relying on their power, they display potential in utilizing powers from past rangers from different series, such as Mighty Morphin, Dino Thunder, or Zeo.

The Super Mega Rangers have access to many abilities and weapons, as they can access all rangers through their ranger keys, making this team the strongest of all.
