Summary
You know gaming is on the right track where there’s enoughLGBTQ+representation to fill out a whole list, and it’s fantastic to see, especially with pansexuality. Characters who identify as pansexual, meaning they don’t factor in gender whatsoever when choosing their partners, have been becoming more and more prominent in video games.
Often, this status will be clarified more by the writers and game developersto distinguish characters from seeming queer-coded, or sometimes the pansexuality of a character will be well-established through the dialogue and character writing. Whether they’re a playable protagonist, a side character, or just an ordinary NPC, here are some of the best pansexual characters you’ll currently find in gaming!

11Lifeweaver
Overwatch 2
The firstOverwatchintroduced a few LGBTQ+ characters, even though they weren’t handled in the best way possible by Blizzard. But now, the sequel comes inand tries to do right by the community the second time around. One exceptionally loud and proud pansexual character is the hero going by Lifeweaver.
The developers made it clear right away that Lifeweaver is pansexual, and you’ll see his sexuality reflected in his dialogue interactions and the way his character is written and visually designed. The most important element is the flower attached to his back, as it represents his love for nature and all life. His healing abilities, like Tree of Life and Healing Blossom, further tie into the lore of his design.

10Rick Sanchez
MultiVersus, Rick And Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality, Pocket Mortys
One of the most notable pansexual characters in the adult animated world is Morty’s alcoholic scientist grandfather, Rick Sanchez, from Rick and Morty. His pansexual status was confirmed during a Comic-Con panel by his voice actor and was officially made canon in the episode called ‘Auto Erotic Assimilation’ in the show’s second season.
Rick and Morty is up there with The Simpsons, South Park, Futurama, and Family Guy as one of the best adult animated comedy series of all time, and it’s no surprise both Rick Sanchez and Mortyare available as brawlers in WB Games' MultiVersus. Rick is armed with a laser and portal gun and has the ability to summon Mr. Meeseeks and use a jetpack for his specials.

9Zane Flynt
Borderlands 3
Borderlands 3lets you take on a character from a new rag-tag team of Vault Hunters, and one of the members you can choose also happens to be pansexual, which is pretty epic to see for a Triple-A video game protagonist. His name is Zane Flynt, and he’s the Operative class Vault Hunter with a connection to the previous games, as he’s the brother of the bandits Baron Flynt and Captain Flynt from Borderlands and Borderlands 2, respectively.
Zane comeswith some very unique tech-oriented skills, like one where he can create a Digi-Clone of himself that distracts and engages enemies during combat and another that allows him to use a shoulder cannon and a Sentinel Drone. He’s a notorious mercenary who’s done a lot of work for a lot of different organizations, and he’s also polyamorous, with multiple marriages across the galaxy.

8Lilith
Darksiders Series
Lilith is a Queen of Demonscommonly featured as a character in video games, particularly Diablo, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and the Darksiders series. The Darksiders version of Lilith is canonically pansexual, as according to the novel, Darksiders: The Abomination Vault, she has an assortment of demon lovers she’s intimate with, including “some male, some female, some both, and a few neither.”
Darksiders is an excellent hack-and-slash seriesbased on biblical demons and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who are of the ancient race created by Lilith – Nephilim. Lilith serves as an antagonist in the series and, naturally, her most famous power is the art of seduction, with her character design reflecting that as well.

7Kevin
Saints Row (2022)
The 2022Saints Rowremake was far from the best game in the series, but it did introduce plenty of excellent new characters, such as a Santo Ileso DJ named Kevin. His official bio reveals that not only is he polyamorous but also openly pansexual, noting that “he’s attracted to people’s hearts.”
Kevin’s role in the story is that he’s a partygoing fixer for the Saints who was formerly associated with a rival gang known as The Idols, and his missions are some of the most fun in the game, thanks to a terrific voice performance by veteran voice actor Greg Chun. Kevin also wears cleverly branded Kevin Klein boxersand has some really memorable inkthat hints at his love for syrup, milk, and waffles.

6Fuse And Seer
Apex Legends
Bringing pansexual representation to a multiplayer battle royale game are Fuse and Seer from Apex Legends. According to the official bio for Fuse on EA’s website, he’s described as a “ladies' man, man’s man, and all-round manly man,” and game writerSam Gill even went on to proudly confirm Fuse’s pansexual status on Twitter/X. Similarly, Seer’s pansexuality wasconfirmed in another post on Twitter/Xfrom writer Amanda Doiron, saying he “sees to the heart of people and doesn’t limit himself to a specific gender.”
Fuse is the Aussie ‘Grenado Tornado,’ known for his cool mechanical arm that launches grenades and other projectiles, while Seer’s ability literally allows him to see enemies' heartbeats. Overall, Apex Legends isa massive step in the right direction for LGBTQ+ representationin video games, especially when there are also trans, non-binary, gay, and lesbian characters in the roster.

5Finn McNamara
Life Is Strange 2
Although there was a nod to Arcadia Bay in Life is Strange 2, the game pivots to a very different story direction that follows two brothers on the run from the law after a tragedy, the younger one having supernatural abilities. The series' LGBTQ+ themes are still one of the most important highlights that are just as essential to the plot here.
As fugitives, Sean and Daniel Diaz eventually find refuge with a group working on a weed farm in Northern California. It’s there Sean meets Finn McNamara and his friends and can explorea more romantic relationship with him. Finn is pansexual and tells Sean “I see people, not gender. It’s all good… long as I get some.”

4Iron Bull
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the BioWare series as a whole, is known for its LGBTQ+ inclusivity through its romance options, but it also gave Dragon Age its first pansexual character with Iron Bull. Iron Bull is romanceable for both male and female Inquistor characters, and game writer Patrick Weekes definitively confirmed that Iron Bull is indeed pansexual.
Iron Bull is a massive hunk, yet a gentle giant, of the Qunari race and wears an eyepatch, andhis voice actor is also famous Hollywood actor Freddie Prinze Jr.He’s definitely the funnier companion in Inquisition, especially how some of his dialogue is delivered, but if you miss your shot at romancing him, Iron Bull will move onto establishing a romantic connection with another NPC – Dorian.

3Merrin
Star Wars Jedi Series
It’s long been hinted that Merrin isa queer character in Star Wars canonever since she shared her backstory in Jedi: Fallen Order. She seemed to have deeper romantic feelings for a fellow Nightsister who died in the massacre on Dathomir and, in the sequel game, she and protagonist Cal Kestis turn their friendship into romance.
Writer Sam Maggs, herself an LGBTQ+ voice in video games, comics, and literature, penned a canon book taking place in between the events of the video games called Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, where Merrin’s pansexuality was confirmed. It’s somewhatdisappointing that Jedi: Survivor didn’t expand further into thisand made it seem like Merrin solely prefers the male gender in a partner.
2Deadpool
Various Marvel Video Games
One of the most popular pansexual characters of all time is the suited-up Merc with a Mouth,Deadpool. Created for Marvel Comics in 1990, he’s hadmultiple appearances across many video games, including his very own in 2013, and, of course, is also effortlessly portrayed in live-action by actor Ryan Reynolds, who’s out for an adventure with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the third film.
Deadpool is one of the best anti-hero comic book characters ever created, and that’s an understatement. He’s got brilliant humor, always breaks the fourth wall in clever ways, is filled with hilarious references and comebacks, plus he’s got some amazing abilities, like regeneration, and his katana and pistol weapons combo is badass. These are all on full display in 2013’s Deadpool from developer High Moon Studios and Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
