Upgrading your modules is a core part ofThe First Descendant’sprogression. Most of your power comes from reactors and modules, the latter of which requires Kuiper Shards to enhance. Unlike similar games, modules do not have a linear progression, so you ideally want to max as many modules as possible. The higher the rank, the more effective each module becomes.

But leveling modules also comes at the cost of increased Kuiper Shards, an endgame resource that drops from monsters and Encrypted Vaults. You’ll need millions of Kuiper Shards to create a min-maxed loadout, but thanks to these farming strategies, getting this much Kuiper won’t be an issue in the slightest.

First Descendant Dismantle Modules

Dismantle Spare Modules

Before you start farming for Kuiper Shards, you should dismantle any spare modules you own.you may do this by speaking with Silion in Albion, the game’s designated module vendor. Select the “Dismantle Module” option and select all of your duplicates. If you have a stockpile of modules, you’ll earn an easy 50-100K Kuiper Shards by doing this.

Selecting all of your duplicates will dismantleeverything, even spare Transcendent modules.Consider transmuting your spare Transcendent and Ultimate modsfirst before you start dismantling.

First Descendant Agna Desert Vault Farming Spot

500K+ per hour

Pros

Chance to earn Transcendent modules (requires Enzo).

You will need Code Breakers for this farm. Enzo is also highly recommended.

Each enemy you kill has a small chance of dropping aCode Breaker, a small consumable that can be used to open Encrypted Vaults in the open world. You can check your current stockpile in the Consumables tab of your inventory. There are three types: Code Breakers, Precision variants, and Ultra Precision variants.Normal difficulty uses Code Analyzers instead. Both difficulties seem to have the same drop tables based on our limited testing, but this might not be the case.

First Descendant Vault Rarity Types

After you’ve acquired a small stockpile of Code Breakers, travel to Miragestone in Agna Desert.Make sure you’re playing as Enzo. When you spawn, you’ll want to look northwest, north, and east.Use your Ecive scanner to ping the location. If you hear an audible, high-pitched ping, a vault is in your cone of vision. If you get a low-pitch hum, an Encrypted Vault is nearby but not within your cone of vision. If no beep occurs, then no Encrypted Vault spawned near you—reload the instance.

There’s a high chance that at least one of those three areas will have an Encrypted Vault. If you hear a ping, travel to the vault and crack it open. Enzo makes the vault minigame trivial, so don’t worry about failing it.Enzo also has a small chance of spawning a Transcendent mod upon opening an Ultra Precision Vault. These modules will always be for Enzo, although you can transmute them to earn other Descendant augments.

The type of vault you open will determine how many Kuiper Shards you’ll earn. Enzo doesnotscale the number of Kuiper Shards you earn, nor do any boosters found on external components or the cash shop. Exact values are shown below.

22,000–25,000

Ultra Precision

65,000–70,000

If you get lucky and keep finding Precision and Ultra Precision Vaults, you’ll earnupwards of 500K+ Kuiper per hour. With the Agna Desert strategy, you’re able to open one Vault on average every minute. If you include spawning RNG and rarity RNG, you’ll likely open 15-20 rarer vaults per hour. Best of all, you’ll earnMixed Energy Residueduring this farm, a resource used forcreating Crystallization Catalysts.

100K+ per hour

Great source of modules and reactors

For a consistent Kuiper Farm you can do with minimal effort, check out theAnticipated Ambush Pointin Sterile Lands. Simply join the zone as Bunny, start the mission, and run circles near the objective. Her third ability turns the mission into autopilot difficulty. Melt the boss that spawns, pick up any loot the enemies dropped, and then restart the mission. This should yield roughly 100K Kuiper per hour with an efficient build.

Of course, you don’t have to run Anticipated Ambush Point for monster drops; any mission works. As long as the mission has ample enemy density, it’ll be a good source of Kuiper. If you have Kuiper boosters active, even better. Some good alternative farms include:
