The second week ofModern Warfare 3’sfifth season has released one of the strongest aftermarket parts in recent memory. Fans of the RPK can morph it into a rapid-fire sniper rifle with the JAK Cataclysm Kit. Install this attachment, and you’ll be able to land one-hit kills at most ranges at a surprisingly fast 133 RPM. Few marksman rifles and snipers can compete.
Installing this attachment comes with some major handling drawbacks, but you’re able to mitigate most of them with the right build. Today, we’ll be looking at the strongest build for the JAK Cataclysm you can use to dominate Multiplayer matches, taking advantage of some long-forgotten MW2 attachments to drastically increase its effectiveness. But first, let’s explain how you can unlock this weapon kit for yourself.
How To Unlock The JAK Cataclysm
The JAK Cataclysm Kit is unlocked bycompleting five challenges inWeek 2 of Season 5.you’re able to complete a mix of challenges from Multiplayer, MWZ, and Warzone to unlock this attachment. The kit is applied tothe RPK,an LMG that was originally unlocked in MW2. If you don’t have the RPK, you can unlock it through the Armory Unlocks system.
Once Season 5 ends, the JAK Cataclysm Kit will be moved tothe Armory Unlocks system.
The Best JAK Cataclysm Build
The RPK is converted into a .50 Caliber LMG with theJAK Cataclysm Kit.This turns the gun into a fast-firing sniper rifle, capable of one-tapping players up to 40 meters. It’s an absurdly powerful conversion kit for both core and hardcore modes, but it’s quite sluggish out of the gate. The good news is that we canenhance its ADS speedwith some attachments, including a long-forgotten laser: theCanted Vibro-Dot 7.
You can’t use tactical stance with this weapon, but the canted laser is functionally the same thing. Aiming this way removes all bullet deviation, making this gun extremely accurate at all ranges. For faster ADS speed, we run theBroadside FCTstock, theTrue-Tac Grip, and theSL Skeletal Vertical Grip.This drops your ADS speed to 457ms. That’s not particularly fast, but considering this gun iseffectively a stronger Longbowwith far more range, that’s not bad.
Loadout Recommendations
Since this weapon is rather sluggish to shoot, we suggest using theGunner Vest.This vest gives you Mag Holster for free and grants max ammo on spawn. More importantly, it lets you run asecond primary weapon.Equip your favorite AR or SMG to deal with abrupt gunfights up close.
To make this build as smooth as possible, we suggest usingQuick-Grip Glovesfor instantaneous weapon swaps, theAll-Terrain Bootsto buff your general mobility, and theCompression Plateto instantly heal after a gunfight. Equipment is dealer’s choice. If you can’t decide,Stimsand theMex Boxare always good options.
