Ghost Reconis a series founded upon tactics and excellent gunplay, with Breakpoint being no different. Breakpoint is home to a plethora of weapons that are both new introductions to the series, and veteran tools of destruction. Among these hundreds of weapons, some shine more brightly than others when it comes to effectiveness in the field.
The various rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and pistols of the island of Auroa each have a strength they play to and varying stats to accompany these strengths and weaknesses. That being said, let’s look at the best of the best when it comes to guns in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
10Honey Badger SMG
The Honey Badger is a versatile platform with a design based on the ever popular M4 Assault Rifle. Despite being a submachine gun, it rivals even the best of the assault rifles in terms of effectiveness at medium range.
A fast fire rate of 800 rounds per minute and solid damage makes this a beast in close quarters and a good contender for a mid-range fight. To obtain this gun, simply head over to Maria at her shop in Erewhon and purchase the blueprint for 20,000 Skell Credits.
9Bullpup PDR SMG
The PDR submachine gun can be located in the Driftwood Islets Testing Zone in the Driftwood Islets area of Auroa. Much like the Honey Badger, this gun is highly effective at both close and mid-range, and retains a respectable accuracy when fired in full auto.The gun is chambered in 5.56mm assault rifle rounds, which helps it with damage and range.
Like the Honey Badger, it fires 800rpm and can be used by the Panther class without the 20 percent damage penalty from the suppressor, allowing it to outperform some assault rifles.
8AK-74 Assault Rifle
As a part of one of the most iconic rifle families ever, it’s only fitting that the AK-74 makes a name for itself on the list. As a member of the AK family, it naturally hits like a truck and deals 27 damage per shot. To balance out the high damage, the gun fires a measly 600 rounds per minute.
The AK-74 is highly accurate when shot in comparison to the standard AK-47 and has excellent range to help keep the gun effective in many different scenarios. When it comes to fending off the Wolves, there are few guns you’d rather have with you.
75.7 USG Pistol
When you think of the best guns available, sidearms aren’t usually high on the list of contenders. However, the 5.7 USG makes a respectable name for itself as a more than dependable pistol to carry with you into battle. Described as having tough recoil but good firepower, the 5.7 is great for when you run out of ammo and can be the difference between life and death on Auroa.
It’s located in the Ocoro Province and is a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to incorporate a pistol into their weapons of choice.
6G28 DMR
DMRs are known to bridge the gap between assault rifles and snipers, often having the rate of fire of the former with the firepower of the latter. When you use the G28, it feels like a hyper-lethal dream. The rifle shoots 7.62 rounds with a relatively simple recoil pattern and nice accuracy.
The firepower doesn’t disappoint either and is capable of dropping most enemies in just a few shots from its 15 round magazine. To obtain this sleek rifle, simply head into the northern Restricted Area 01 province and look for the Training Camp inhabited by the Wolves.
5TAC50 Sniper Rifle
If you’re in the market foran extremely long-range and deadly companion,look no further than the TAC50. This sniper boasts the highest range in its class and manages to pack quite a punch while keeping you far from the targets. The tradeoff for such range is a lack of mobility but when long range support is your mission, how much mobility can one need.
If you want this beauty, head on over to the Maunga Nui Port where you’ll find the blueprint in an office building on the second floor.
4MP5 SMG
The MP5 is almost as iconic as the M4 or AK-47 assault rifles and isone of the best SMGs. As the workhorse of lower caliber machine guns, it has the highest firepower of the SMG class. It’s highly customizable and able to be applied in many different scenarios to great effect.
While it lacks mobility and has lower accuracy, it still manages to comfortably sit as a fan favorite gun while retaining effectiveness. The MP5 is located in the Maunga Nui Eco Park as a blueprint which allows you to craft the gun. It’s well worth the grab and is deserving of a spot in any good Panther class.
3MG121 LMG
Big guns can solve any problem so long as you have enough ammo for the situation. The MG121 can be the backbone of the team when times get tough. The gun is only as effective as its user though, so make sure you’re prepared to handle the recoil.
You’ll be able to move positions frequently thanks to the guns' respectable mobility stat. It’s found in the Sinking Country district within the Ammunition Depot location. The MG121 makes raining hell down on enemies a breeze and can easily end a fight in record time.
2CTMMG LMG
The CTMMG is a great gun for long-range engagements, provided you can handle the recoil. If you can control it, you’ve got a fantastic gun that can laser enemies with a hail of gunfire from ranges well beyond normal LMGs. It packs a good punch of 35 damage per shot with a lower fire rate of 600RPM.
It can be found in the Sinking Country district around the Sentinel Corp Land Base near Checkpoint Tiger Juliet. It’s well worth the find since it’s effective in virtually any scenario.
1416 Assault Rifle
This gun is the epitome ofthe best of the best when it comes to assault rifles.you’re able to dominate at range or shred in close quarters with the ever popular 416 rifle. It’s incredibly useful all around and doesn’t have any noteworthy shortcomings.
The gun can easily carry you through most, if not all, of the game’s main story should you fall in love with it like many have. It’s actually the first primary weapon you encounter in the game at the crash site after the opening sequence.
