Ex Machina is the story of a man who wins a contest that allows him to test out just how human a robot is. The robot is incredibly self-aware and uses manipulation tactics to trick and escape the man.
If this romantic thriller is your cup of tea, you have to try Asteroid Run: No Questions Asked. This game is an interactive sci-fi novel game where your choices control the story. As the captain of the ship, you can make commands or be a more hands-on leader. It’s a delicious story, and you can replay easily by making new choices.

Midsommar is one of A24’s more infamous movies. It follows a woman who is invited to a festival that happens to be a front for a cult. She deals with uncertainty, friendship, and a crippling relationship while fighting to stay alive.
There isn’t a game that follows this exact plot, but one that has a similar feel is Outlast. Outlast follows a journalist who gets trapped in a psychiatric hospital. It’s apsychological horror gamewhere you have to fight to survive, very similar to the protagonists’ battle in Midsommar.

Moonlight is a movie about a boy growing up. He faces challenges having to do with his identity, particularly his sexuality, as well as abuse. It’s a beautiful film that follows his life: the good, bad, and ugly.
ValiDate: Struggling Singles in Your Area is a graphic-novel video game about adults navigating relationships. This game has racially diverse playable characters with over 30 routes to take. You can make horrible decisions, date different people, and navigate through jobs and friendships.

Blasphemous
Pearl is a horror film about a woman who feels she is worth more than the farm life. She’ll do anything to leave, including killing off anyone who will get in her way. The movie has gone viral for certain lines, such as, “No I’m a star! Please I’m a star!”
Ifyou’re a horror fanwho appreciates Pearl, you should dip your toes in Blasphemous. The game is a bit brutal, in the same way that Pearl is. You perform executions to complete your quests. It’s beautifully done, and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous.
