If you liked the liminal and utterly horrifying nature of The Mist, here are a few games to play.

Silent Hill 2is apuzzle horror gameand like The Mist, it is set in a small town in Maine. You will be following James Sunderland, who is trying to find his deceased wife in the monster-infested town of Silent Hill.
The gameplay consists of mostly combating against monsters and solving puzzles as James wanders around Silent Hill. The eerieness of the town as well as the grim setting is very similar to The Mist.

Alan Wakeis a horror mystery game following Alan Wake, who is in his journey of overcoming his writer’s block. Alan and his wife had been on a vacation together when suddenly she goes missing and it is up to him to find her.
Alan Wake plays out similarly to a TV show as episodes are made available. As Alan investigates, he figures out his wife is trapped in what is called The Dark Place, and he must figure out how to get her out. The world is distorted and dangerous, much like The Mist, and is a fascinating game to play.
6Night Of The Consumers
Night of the Consumers is a grocery store-themed horror game that has quite an unsettling art style. It’s a fast-paced and short game where you must stock shelves and assist unruly customers.
Night of the Consumers is a work in progress but is still available to play.
You will play as a new store employee who is being thrown into the terrifying job of retail. Similar to The Mist, you are trapped in a grocery store with incredibly unsettling vibes along with customers who are aggressive and needy while you try your hardest to get through your shift.
WHERE TO PLAY
Stalker is a survival horror game that is inspired by theevents of Chornobyl. The character you play is suffering heavily from amnesia and starts off having no idea who he is or what led up to his situation.
In Stalker, the people, particularly the military and scientists, had tried to settle in the area around Chornobyl, but due to the radiation, there is a lot of dangers. While the setting isn’t a foggy slate, the mutated creatures draw some similarities to Project Arrowhead in The Mist.
The Long Darkis a survival game where seemingly everything tries to kill you after you are stranded in the forests of Canada. You are utterly alone, and you only have yourself to rely on for survival.
In The Long Dark, there are two instances of fog; there is the glimmer fog and the heavy fog. Glimmer fog is when there is electrostatic energy that messes with your gadgets. The heavy fog, though, is something straight out of The Mist. It’s nearly impossible to navigate through and can cause disorientation, making travel even harder.
Days Goneis anopen-world zombie gamewhere the world has descended into chaos. While you are venturing through the beautiful lands of Oregon, you will come across some horrifying people called Rippers.
Rippers are individuals who have succumbed to the teachings of one man, Jesse, who worships the zombies. Jesse took advantage of people who were scared of the situation at hand and convinced them to join his religion/cult. They will sacrifice anyone who disagrees with their ideology, which sounds a lot like Mrs. Carmody and her frantic sermons and ideas in The Mist.
SCP: Containment Breach is a first-person survival horror game in which you have to escape the SCP Foundation site. You were once a lab rat, being tested and experimented on when there was a containment breach and you were able to escape.
Throughout SCP: Containment Breach, you will face the horrors of the testing facility. Many of the SCPs who have also escaped are pursuing you, and you will have to avoid them. The creatures and the eerie vibe draw a few similarities to The Mist.
