Summary
One of China’s most famous stories is Journey To The West, and one of the chief characters in the story is the near-invincible Demigod, Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. From his origins being born from a stone and acquiring Taoist powers, Sun Wukong is known for his chaotic temperament and on-off allegiance to Buddha and the other celestial deities.
His rebellion against Heaven and his pilgrimage to the West alongside Tang Sanzang and his disciples were one of his most well-known adventures. Sun Wukong’s arsenal and abilities include transforming into 72 different creatures and objects, a staff that changes size and length as he wields it, and being practically invincible. Sun Wukong has appeared in multiple film, animation, and video game iterations.

This is a VR-exclusive story experience that follows the legends of Sun Wukong that you’re able to have on Steam. This cinematic storybook fully immerses you in Sun Wukong’s mischief, journey in service of Buddha, and the many trials he endures.
Because of the very specific system requirements for this experience, it’s very expensive and not quite worth the effort to purchase and ensure you have everything you will need to run the “game”. It is, however, a very interesting way to experience the story of Sun Wukong from his humble beginnings to many of his epic battles.

6Journey to the West
Following the events of the mythical epic, Journey to the West is a rogue-like deck-building game where you can organize a party of divine figures of Chinese myth. Your group members include the White Dragon, the Swine King, and, of course, Sun Wukong. Outside of your party members, there are deck characters specific to the story of Journey to the West.
Sun Wukong’s abilities include dodging oncoming attacks, inflicting intense fire damage, and shapeshifting into enemies to use their abilities. He also wields his infamous staff weapon that can deliver tons of AOE damage.

5Civilization VI
In the city-building simulator, Sun Wukongappears as a hero you can obtain from the Heroes & Legends game mode from the Bayblon DLC pack. He’s a formidable melee unit with an incredibly high lifespan. He has several attributes associated with his mythological power from speed to disguises.
Like the other Hero units, Sun Wukong’s strength increases depending on the Era you play in. This actually plays into his mythos, due to the different magical items and foods he stole from the past that made him an immortal demigod overtime. Sun Wukong is ideal for pillaging and his stealth work can keep him hidden to any enemy efforts unless they’re adjacent to him.

4Dota 2
Sun Wukong appears in Dota 2 as his well-known moniker, the Monkey King. His stats and abilities are all incredibly faithful to the mythological traits such as his extremely high speed, average defense, and robust attack power.He is one of the best warriors to start with due to his resilient abilities.
Monkey King’s abilities include Boundless, where his staff extends and stuns enemies in a line in front of him. Other abilities include the Tree Dance, which enhances his jump attack, Jingi Mastery where four consecutive attacks on one enemy hero charges you up with four powerful attacks, and Wukong’s command, where he summons monkey warriors in a perimeter around him to take on enemies.

3Warriors Orochi 4
In the popular Warriors crossover by Koei-Tecmo, Sun Wukong appears as one of the many mythical figures to face off against legions of helpless mooks. He is a chaotic figure, serving both the villainous factions of Kiyomori and Orochi, and also allying with many of the heroic factions scattered by the conflict against the supernatural forces of Orochi. InWarriors Orochi 4, he throws his lot with Odin in battles caused by Zeus and the Olympians.
Sun Wukong interacts with many interesting figures in history and mythology throughout the series, from Hideyoshi, whose appearance and demeanor are similar to his, to the Norse Pantheon Odin and Loki. Sun Wukong has several staff weapons at his disposal for battle, with his strongest weapon being the Celestial Simian.

2Unruly Heroes
In this beat-em-up adventure, You get to play Sun Wukong, his master Sanzang, Kihong, and Sandmonk, the other characters of Journey to the West. You can tackle enemies alone or in a team with up to three other players with local co-op. This game is stylized similarly to other sidescroller action games, and a diverse group of enemies will drive you to master your kung-fu abilities.
Sun Wukong has a stylish array of combo attacks, using his iconic bo staff that can increase in size and strength for dynamic blows and attacks. He can also transform into a large bird for extra mobility attacks and jumping combos.

1SMITE
Sun Wukong is one of the chief characters from the Chinese Pantheon featured in SMITE as afearsome member of the warrior class with high mobility and defense. His most useful passive skill is Undefeated Body, which increases his defense after he’s down by 60 percent health. Other skills he has is the Magic Cudgel, which is his staff growing in size to slam onto his enemies, and the 72 transformations, where he can turn into an Eagle, Ox, or Tiger for charging attacks.
Sun Wukong’s Ultimate attack is the Somersault Cloud, where he jumps on his cloud and lets a Pet beast fight in his stead until it’s defeated. Sun Wukong is best for his intensive crowd-controlling skillset and his defenses and agility make him one of the best characters to start out your fun journey through Smite.
