Spring - Costs 70 Gold

Buying the most expensive seeds during your first spring might not always be an option - at least not until you get later into the season. Thankfully, the cabbage is a high reward lower-cost seed. At only 70 gold, the cabbage will sell for 180 after growing for nine days.

Of course, this is one of the higher growing times, but it’s well worth it, especially if you grow them in bulk. That’s not to say you can’t make plenty of money off of turnips, but it will be enough toget your hands on a shovelso you can expand your farm further.

Summer - Costs 300 Gold

By the time summer rolls around you should be well prepared to get a handful of seeds, and one of the first ones that you get should be the tomato. Although tomatoes have one of the highest prices, at 300 gold a piece, they only take five days to sprout and they regrow their fruit every three days, meaning every three days you’re able to sell your harvest for 125 gold.

Plus, if you don’t want to sell your tomatoes, they’re used in quite a few recipes, so they have use outside of being sold for cold, hard cash.

Similar to many other re-growing plants, corn costs 300 gold, takes five days to grow, and puts out more corn every three days. Each ear of corn you sell will net you 125 gold, meaning if you plant it early enough you may recoup your lost cost and then some.

Plus, corn is also useful to keep stored for cooking and it requires minimal tending. Just make sure that you’re watering it every day, otherwise you’re going to set back the time it takes for it to regrow.

Fall - Costs 300

Wheat is different from the other recurring plants in Fields of Mistria because, while it costs 300, it sells for a slightly higher price. It takes longer to grow too, given that you need to wait nine days for the first harvest. After that, though, every three days you can sell your harvested wheat for 150 gold.

Over a 28-day period, selling them will get you double what you paid. This isn’t necessarily the best crop for fall when pitted against cranberries, but it’s still better than most.

Wheat can be milled into flour once you have the windmill running. This gives wheat extra value for the wide variety of cooked dishes that require flour.

4Cranberry

Cranberries are pretty much the same as every other recurring plant in Fields of Mistria, aside from wheat. You buy it for 300, wait five days, and for every three days after the first harvest, you’re able to pick more and sell them for 125 gold.

Of course, you need to make sure that you’re actually watering your cranberries on time - if you aren’t you’re going to throw off the schedule and have lost profits. If you plant them at the beginning of Fall and are on time with your watering, however, you should end up with a total of 575 gold of profit, all from one plant.

Winter - Costs 70

That’s right, you actually get to grow food in winter in this game - no more long and starving winters as you sleep your days away or spend all of your time in the mines. There aren’t a ton of options once winter rolls around, but the Daikon Radish is a pretty good one all things considered.

You buy the seeds for 70 gold, wait nine days, and then you get to sell them for a neat 180 gold. That’s a pretty hefty profit margin that makes them an incredibly compelling purchase.

2Snow Peas

Winter - Costs 300

Snow Peas are, fundamentally, the same as every other “regrow” crop, and there isn’t much different that you may say about them. However, for the winter months, it’s good to get your hands on them.

Plant them early, keep on top of their watering, and you should be well prepared to buy new seeds come spring. Yes, even in winter you still need to make sure that you’re watering your plants - can’t skip out on it unless it’s raining, which is, all things given, highly unlikely to happen.

Depending on how active you are in the Mines, you might have reached the third zone by the time you hit winter. This also unlocks the Growth magic spell, instantly growing a 3x3 selection of crops. Snow Peas are a perfect choice for this spell, given their regrowing ability.

1Fruit Trees

Year Round - Costs 400

Fruit Trees are a hefty investment, generally costing around 400 gold. However, they are available in every season and you shouldn’t hesitate to get them and plant them as early as you can. If you plant them at the beginning of the season, there’s a decent chance you’ll get your hands on some fruit before the season’s end.

The best thing about these trees, however, is that you don’t have to rebuy them every year. They will continue to produce fruit annually, meaning after you pay off that original 400 everything else is wonderful and unending profit.

The museum has a section for crops from each season, these sections always include one fruit. Be sure to plant that fruit tree if you want to get the museum completed.
