Summary
Do you miss the Hybrid meta of BT07 Next Adventure of theDigimon TCG? Well no worries, because ten sets later, BT17 Secret Crisis has plenty of Hybrid Digimon to satisfy your aggro and control needs. The set focuses on anime protagonists, like Omnimon and Imperialdramon, and their accompanying powerful Option cards that can aid against deletion effects.
Most of the cards in the set feature protagonists from the first five anime seasons of Digimon, but it also includes a slew of cards from the Digimon Seekers web novel, including the fearsome DexDorugoramon. This set has plenty for all types ofDigimon Card Gamefans and players to sink their teeth in.

10Gallantmon: Crimson Mode ACE
Powerful New ACE Card Enters The Fold!
Gallantmon is a deck that is purely based on board deletion and the Blitz keyword, but other than that, the deck hasn’t done much in terms of competitive results. This Crimson Mode ACE card not only helps the deck close out games, but other red decks can take advantage of the powerful level seven Royal Knight.
This card can delete a Digimon that is giving you problems, all while your opponent attacks. The card is generic enough for red decks to play, especially those you can slot in a cheeky level seven Digimon like this one.

9Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode ACE
An Incredible And Flexible ACE
Just like Gallantmon, Imperialdramon ACE is an excellent tool to close out games, but this time for green and blue decks. As the second triple-colored card in the Digimon Card Game, Imperialdramon is an amazing card to stun your opponent’s board, but also flexible enough to use when fighting against purple decks that rely on their trash to make plays.
This card can help you recycle your previously used cards, or shut down your opponent if they use their trash as a resource. Say goodbye to those peskyNumemon decks!

8Fenriloogamon: Takemikazuchi
The Final Form Of The Sons Of Chaos Digimon
The newest addition to the furry digital pals was already an excellent deck in the Digimon Card Game, but with Takemikazuchi, Loogamon can unleash its full potential with its DNA Digivolution with his pal, Pulsemon.
The deck operates in a similar fashion as itsBT14counterpart, but this time, it focuses on getting BT17 Kazuchimon, and Takemikazuchi into the trash to activate their effect. If done properly, this deck can beat your opponent, within a single turn. If you like explosive decks, then make sure you have a couple of copies of this Digimon.
7AncientGarurumon
The King Of Hybrids Is Back
The most powerful Hybrid Digimon is here to stay. This card can remove smaller threats on the board while removing your opponent’s security with ease. The newest version of Blue Hybrid is one of the fastest decks in the meta and it’s all thanks to this card.
If your opponent manages to out AncientGarurumon, you will not be left out to dry. This card can float into another Tamer, giving you endless amounts of resources without any real downside. You’ll probably draw into another AncientGarurumon soon enough.
6Greymon
Movie References Galore!
Even though it is one of the protagonists, Greymon didn’t receive much support in this set in favor of more Omnimon-centric cards. That’s not to say that the support found is not good. This card is quite flexible as it takes up the names of everything under its sources. This means you could technically Digivolve it into an Agumon that can evolve from a Koromon, making your Greymon stacks much larger.
It may not be the best on any given Greymon deck, but it is one step closer to the holy land that is the Greymon Card Game.
5Ancient Guardian Deity
Play Your Hybrids For A Cheap Cost
In the current meta, Digimon decks that offer a method of protection against removal effects are some of the strongest. BT17 Secret Crisis introduces a handful of Option cards that can help curve the lack of protection, and at times even enhance it.
Ancient Guardian Deity doesn’t protect your Hybrid stacks from being deleted, but it opens up an avenue for you to be able to float into a new stack once yours has been removed. This Option can effectively play an AncientGarurumon from the trash for a total of four memory if done correctly and can meet certain doom for your opponent with the right timing.
4Koji Minamoto
New Tamer For Fast And Aggressive Hybrid Play
Hybrid decks revolve around setting up their tamers to later on Digivolve into powerful level four and five Digimon. The last time a Koji tamer was released was back in BT07, so the blue protagonist was overdue for a new one for the BT17 format.
This time, Koji has an inherited effect that gives your Digimon the Jamming keyword whenever you add cards to your hand by an effect. Combined with KendoGarurumon, this tamer will be the lifeblood of your deck.
3Return To The Primogenitor
Another Layer Of Protection For Imperialdramon
Imperialdramon already has an amazing protection effect in the form of Partition provided by BT16 Paildramon. The effect lets you play two level four Digimon from the sources of a stack that was to be deleted, letting you keep enough bodies for another DNA Digivolution.
The Return To The Primogenitor protects your stack even further by letting you Digivolve into anotherImperialdramonto prevent its deletion, further extending your plays and interrupting your opponent’s. Just make sure you meet the color requirements because unlike other Option cards in the same vein, Return To The Primogenitor does not let you bypass them.
2KendoGarurumon
Draw Cards And Warp Easily
Lobomon is known as the go-to Hybrid in the blue color, but in BT17, KendoGarurumon is your main staple. While both Hybrids are key pieces to the deck, especially with Lobomon’s warp Digivolve into AncientGarurumon, KendoGarurumon’s raw draw power will help you find the piece that you need in dire situations.
Not only can KendoGarurumon fill your hand, but whenever you attack, you’ll be able to Digivolve into a Lobomon for free. You can even make some cheeky combos with the JetSylphymon from BT07 Next Adventure.
1DexDorugoramon
Defend Your Stack Against Any Threat
Another deck that was introduced in the earlier days of the Digimon Card Game gets revamped in BT17 Secret Crisis. DexDorugoramon was featured in the Digimon Seekers web novel and it comes back into the card game better than ever.
Playing along with the rest of its Digivolution line and their Collision shenanigans, DexDorugoramon is quite deadly if not kept in check. It can DeDigivolve your opponent’s Digimon, effectively slowing them down for a couple of turns, all while having an incredible protection effect, similar to Return Of The Primogenitor, but activates while this Digimon is in the trash.
