EX sets in theDigimon Card Gameare usually considered side set and appeal to the more hardcore side of the fandom. They usually feature more obscure Digimon like RagnaLoardmon or evenvideo game exclusiveslike Mastemon. This time, Infernal Ascension is high up on the power level, including some meta-defining cards.

10Ogudomon
The Final Form Of The Seven Great Demon Lords
Even though this level seven Digimon will be a hard one to bring out, once this Avatar is out on the battle area, it will be a hard match to lose. This combination of the Seven Great Demon Lords can wipe your opponent’s battle area and security in one fell swoop.
Sadly, the card is built around theSeven Great Demon Lordsdeck and nothing else. Surely someone can find a way to work this beast of a card into other decks, but for now, it can still make for an incredible boss Digimon.
9Mirei Mikagura
The Queen Of Angels Is Back
The Infernal Ascension set brings tons of support for Mastemon players to enjoy and dominate their local scene with. The deck was a bit too slow to keep up with current meta decks, but with EX06 Mirei, the deck can cheat out a Mastemon way more consistently.
The deck plays too many level five Digimon, so Mirei allowing you to Digivolve for a reduced cost from the trash and DNA Digivolve at the end of your turn can be a huge problem for your opponent to deal with.
8Lucemon: Chaos Mode
The Mighty Fallen Angel
Lucemon’s bread and butter has always been recovery and tamer deletion. This EX06 version of the fallen angel does all of this on one single card. The most interesting part is that the deletion is choice given to your opponent. If they choose poorly, they might find themselves in quite a pickle.
Lucemon also comes with a built-in floating effect, as long as you have a smaller Lucemon as a Digivolution source, it can play a Satan Mode or even another Seven Great Demon Lord from the trash.
7Diaboromon
Set Up A Wall Of Tokens
Diaboromon players have eagerly waited for this card to come and save their deck. With the EX06 Diaboromon, your token spam gameplay becomes far more consistent. Every time you start your turn, you will be able to play a new Diaboromon token while giving it Jamming and Blocker.
Not only can this card set up a huge wall for your opponent to overcome, but it can spam the tokens during your opponent’s turn since its effect will activate whenever your opponent plays a Digimon as well.
6Cherubimon ACE
Green And Yellow Continue Their Consistency Streak
Not only can this Cherubimon continue with yellow/green’s gameplan of board spam, but it can also apply a blanket DP reduction effect, giving you one more turn to push your advantage. Sure, this card is a great top end for Cherubimon and Lopmon decks, but where it truly shines is in its generic effect.
As long as your deck plays yellow or green level-five Digimon, this Cherubimon ACE is a perfect addition to your deck. You can even come up with some cheeky Lucemon plays if you are not too worried about the Overflow effect.
5Mastemon ACE
The Queen Is Back
Before EX06 Infernal Ascension, Mastemon,although a neat deck that introduced Jogress Digivolution, was a bit slow in modern Digimon, but with this Mastemon ACE, you’ll be able to control your opponent’s board amidst their attack.
Blast Digivolving is a powerful tool for any deck, and now Mastemon has access to Blast DNA. Even without the EX06 Mirei Tamer, this Mastemon ACE is always a great card to keep in your hand. Even leaving a single Angewomon out in the battle area will strike fear in your opponent’s eyes.
4Lilithmon
The Best Lilithmon To Date
Lilithmon has received tons of printings in the Digimon Card Game, but none have come closer in power level as its EX06 version. This card can destroy your opponent’s security without even touching it, all while deleting their Digimon in the process.
Lilithmon applies an “end of turn” effect on your opponent’s Digimon that will cause it to delete itself. Unless they have some type of effect protection, almost no Digimon are safe from the Demon Lord’s effect. Pair this card with Lilithmon X Antibody and you’ll have no issue defeating your opponents.
3Lucemon
Another Fallen Angel For The Deck
Searchers are some of the strongest cards in the Digimon Card Game. They can find the rest of your pieces for you to Digivolve into. This Lucemon is the archetype’s searcher, although it comes at a heavy cost. This card can reduce its cost depending on whether you have enough cards in the trash, but its cost can be offset by its incredible effect.
At the end of your turn, you will be able to recover by placing one of your level six Digimon in your security along with Digivolving this card into a Chaos Mode for maximum value.
2Dominimon
General Of The Heavenly Army
This card gives angel-based deck a playstyle different from the typical recovery spam that they are used to. Dominimon can search your Security stack and play a level five or lower Angel or Archangel Digimon for free while reducing one of your opponent’s Digimon DP by 7,000.
This effect is amazing for Dominimon’s army-building playstyle, and he can even defend his warriors by trashing a security card. This army is close to unstoppable with Dominimon leading them to victory. It might not seem like a meta-defining card, but it sure can catch people by surprise.
1RagnaLoardmon ACE
The Sword And Shield Jogress Digimon
RagnaLoardmon is another deck whose top end was a bit underwhelming before EX06. With this Ace card you will be able to bring out your win condition much faster. Not only can this card overwhelm your opponent, its Raid and removal abilities are extremely welcome in this Legend-Arms deck.
The level seven Digimon will gain protection from all effects while trashing your opponent’s security, so as soon as he is in the battle area, RagnaLoardmon will pose a huge threat to anyone facing the mighty Jogress.
