Summary

InYu-Gi-Oh!Two iconic dragons made their debut in the original anime. This is the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and the Red-Eyes Black Dragon. While Blue-Eyes has received tons of support, Red-Eyes has never really been a meta contender. Despite this, there is plenty of tech for the archetype that can be used for experimentation.

There are Red-Eyes Monsters that focus on synergizing with different Monster Types, Burn Cards, and others that just attach themselves to your other cards to give boosts. There is plenty to play around with. These are the ten best cards for a Red-Eyes deck.

Burn Your Opponent

Archfiend Black Skull Dragon is a powerful Fusion Monster with a high enough attack power to beat over many of your opponent’s own monsters. The best thing about this is that if you inflict damage during a battle using this card, you’re able to deal burn damage equal to one of your Red-Eyes Normal Monsters in your grave.

This Monster can be brought out using Red-Eyes Fusion, so you don’t need to have the pieces in hand to Summon It. It also recycles that Red-Eyes Black Dragon so you can have it in the deck ready for a different Fusion Summon.

Get Your Extra Deck Monsters Out Easily

Red-Eyes Fusion is a must-have card if you want to make use of the Red-Eyes Fusion Monsters in the Extra Deck. This card can Fusion Summon using Monsters from your hand, deck, or field.

Cards that Fusion Summon from the deck are some of the best Fusion options available. The only downside is that you cannot Normal or Special Summon the turn that you use the card. However, with an option like Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, it might just be worth it for the omni negate.

Number 11: Big Eye Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Art.

8Number 11: Big Eye

Steal Your Opponent’s Monsters

If you’re already running Red-Eyes you might as well run Number 11: Big Eye inthe Extra Deck. This rank seven Monster can suck up your opponent’s face-up Monsters at the cost of Big Eye itself being unable to battle that turn.

This is fine because Monsters stolen by Big Eye’s effect do not go back to your opponent’s field if Big Eye gets destroyed or if the turn ends. Unlike other monsters like Relinquished Anima, Big Eye has a decent attack and defense, so it won’t instantly be beaten over if stealing a Monster fails.

Red-Eyes Soul from Maze of Memories Set.

7Red-Eyes Soul

Modern Red-Eyes Support

Red-Eyes Soul is a Red-Eyes Monster that was introduced in theMaze of Memoriesset. While on the field or in the graveyard, its name becomes Red-Eyes Black Dragon, which makes it an option for your Fusion Summoning needs.

It also has an effect in the hand that triggers when your opponent Special Summons a Monster. By discarding Red-Eyes Soul, you can bring out any Red-Eyes Monster from your deck. Also, if you control this Monster alongside another Red-Eyes Black Dragon, you can deal burn damage equal to its attack once per duel.

Get More Level Sevens On Your Board

Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon is a level six Monster that can easily become a level seven. It is easy to get onto the field simply by sending a level five or higher Normal Monster from your hand or deck to the graveyard. This will usually be your vanilla Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

The card is also easy access to Red-Eyes Fusion since it can banish itself from the graveyard to add the Fusion Spell to your hand. It can fetch the card from your deck or graveyard, making it useful for recycling a Red-Eyes Fusion that you have already used.

Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon in Yu-Gi-Oh!

5Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon

Chain Energy On Legs

Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon is an excellent Rank seven XYZ Monster for any deck that can make it. If you’re neck to neck during the 3rd round of a match, getting our Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon will allow you to burn your opponent each time they activate a card, giving you the Life Point advantage for a time win.

It is also a perfect Monster to add to the Extra Deck of a Red-Eyes deck due to its additional effect. This requires you to remove one material from Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon to Special Summon a vanilla Red-Eyes Black Dragon from the graveyard.

Red-Eyes Slash Dragon in Yu-Gi-Oh!

4Red-Eyes Slash Dragon

A Useful Targeting Negate

The Red-Eyes Fusion Monsters always want different types of Monsters and this one requires a Warrior. Just by Fusion Summoning it with Red-Eyes Fusion, you can instantly get a Warrior in the graveyard to use this card’s effect.

By attaching a Warrior from the grave as an Equip Spell to Red-Eyes Slash Dragon, you have a negate that can be used to stop any effect that targets another card. It also destroys it, making sure that it’s off the board and cannot be used as a resource by your opponent.

3Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon

Red-Eyes Archetype’s Omni Negate

While Red-Eyes may not be the most competitive deck, it does have a pretty good card that can be used in a Red-Eyes deck, but also in a Dark Magician deck. This is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon and it has a burn effect and an omni negate.

Omni Negates are some of the best forms of interruption since they can stop almost anything your opponent tries to do. It’s flexible enough that it can interrupt the most important combo piece, unlike other forms of negates that can only stop one specific type of play.

Noctovision Dragon Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG card art.

2Noctovision Dragon

Two Level Sevens For The Price Of One

Noctovision Dragon is an interesting choice for a Red-Eyes deck. Once again, Red-Eyes loves those level seven Monsters, especially the ones that can Special Summon themselves. If you have it in your hand when a Dark Dragon Monster is Special Summoned, this one can tag along, giving you everything you need for a Rank Seven.

If you decide to use it for a Link Summon, you get to draw a card which is a nice piece of tech if you go into I:P Masquerena or S:P Little Knight.

Fenrir Monster in Kashtira Deck.

1Kashtira Fenrir

An Easy Interruption And Searcher

Kashtira Fenrir is already a great staple for any deck as a way to bait outhand traps, but it does especially well in Red-Eyes Black Dragon. For starters, it’s a level seven, so it’s instantly compatible with XYZ Summoning using one of your Red-Eyes.

Kashtira Fenrir can also search out a copy of itself or any other Kashtira Monster you want to slide into the deck. If your opponent activates an effect or Fenrir attacks, you can target one of their face-up cards and banish it face-down. It’s great for breaking boards going second and setting up interruptions if you go first.
