Action-oriented game that it is,Visions of Manacomes with five different party members for you to play as with each of them having distinct fighting styles to set them apart from each other. Add in all the different classes available to them, and you can build any of them to be powerful.

Palamena is one such companion, focused primarily on magic. She can seem at first like something of a glass cannon who needs to be kept to the side, though the builds you can make for her can have her nigh unstoppable. Have a look at some of our recommendations.

What Does Palamena Specialise In?

Palamena is the magic specialist of the team. While Careena and Julei can both be built to use magic as well, the former is focused more on blending physical and magical together, while the latter plays a more utility and support role. Palamena is plain and simply the devastating magic wielder of the party.

Her Magic Attack stat is far and away above any other party member’s, letting her focus exclusively on the strength of her magic rather than needing to rely on melee at all. So powerful are her classes that Palamena can be built so as to basicallynever need to replenish her MP either, with it refilling itself constantly.

The Best Builds For Palamena

There are plenty of ways you can build Palamena. Thoughthey will all centre on boosting her Magic Attack to the max, you have some wiggle room to shift the focus a little bit. Maybe you want higher defence so she can play more aggressively, or you want to be able to play a more supportive role without ever needing to throw her into the fray. Palamena has it all, and these are our own builds that we’ve found great success with.

To really boost her MP, you’ll want to give her every Magic Elixir you find.

Visions of Mana Palamena Rune Seer Class.

Rune Seer - The Best of Both Worlds

Rune Seer is Palamena’s Wind Elemental Class and comes with some swanky boots for her to kick enemies with. It’s all aboutkeeping up the offensive between your spellsand offers a slightly higher Attack stat than some of her more magic-oriented classes. Plus it lets her absolutely demolish enemies weaker than her, which is always a plus.

Here are the Skills and Ability Seeds we recommend:

Visions of Mana Palamena Grand Diviner Class.

With this build, Palamena can keep the battle goingeven when she’s low on MP. Better yet, her MP is restored with each strike, meaning physical attacks will naturally lead to magical attacks. It’s a very self-sufficient build while never letting Palamena be in a situation where she’s underequipped.

TheSylphid Boomerangcan make a great backup weapon to get enemies away from you, but also lock them in the air so they can’t run away from your spells.

Grand Diviner - Defensive Magic

The Grand Diviner, Palamena’s Water class, is all about keeping her standing and her enemies locked in place. While it’s not the most powerful in terms of magical output, it offers her increased defence and the means ofkeeping up her MP without having to go near enemiesat all.

With this build, Palamena will be staying away from the enemy. It comes with plenty of ice spells that have a high chance of freezing enemies, while her abilities will let her get those spells off faster while boosting her defence. Since we want Palamena to keep her distance,Wound Magic works great to power up her moves at a relatively low cost, and Healing Light lets her keep the party’s HP topped up.

If you get caught unawares, theUndine Flaskis a great means of blasting those enemies away so Palamena can relocate to a safer area.

Archmage - Endless Casting

While the other builds can serve Palamena in respectable ways, especially if you won’t be playing as her, this is Palamena at her true strength. As an Archmage, she can utterlydevastate enemies with her offensive magicwhile still having a respectable Spirit stat for healing as well.

Archmage is all about using Consecutive Castingto endlessly assault enemies with your magic, so a respective Ability Seed is essential. The All version of this ABility Seed means Palamena can get the damage bonus from all of her elemental spells, not just the Light spells provided by this class. With the chance of her spells not even consuming MP, Brilliance has a high chance of being useful. Finally, with Palamena being fully focused on magic,Guardian of the Sanctuary offers her extra defence without any drawbacks.

Best Party Compositions For Palamena

While any party can find their way to success through sheer force of will, you’ll want to get the most efficient party possible if you’re at the point of looking up builds guides. The people you pair with Palamena’s various builds are important since they shift between the kind of magic you cast, the support you offer, and so on.

Rune Seer

Palamena’s Rune Seer build has her in the middle ground between magical and physical attackers. Many different members can work alongside her here.Careena and Morleywould be useful to double up on the physical damage and magical damage while still having access to powerful buffs and debuffs.

Grand Diviner

Grand Diviner plays much more defensively, so you’ll definitely want to pair this version of Palamena withVal for his strong aggro abilitiesand general physical strength. A great second companion would be eitherJulei or Careena to pick up the extra utilitythat this build of Palamena lacks.

Archmage

The Archmage build for Palamena is basically a walking armoury that can survive by itself, but extra help is never a bad thing.Morley has quite high physicaldamage, making up for Palamena’s respective lack thereof. Anyone else will fit alongside them, thoughJulei may be a good fit for the support buffshe offers while Palamena and Morley are focused on attacking.
