If you’ve playedZenless Zone Zeroor any other gacha game for a while, you probably already know that there’s always a lack of resources to upgrade characters unless you spend some money on the battle pass. This forces F2P players to choose the characters they want to upgrade carefully.
Thankfully, if you’ve acquired Anton in the game, you can freely make him one of your upgraded characters. He’s a four-star DPS Electric unit with a specialty in Attack, and here’s everything you need to know about his build.
The Best Anton Build
One of the most important aspects of building a character in Zenless Zone Zero ishaving the best W-Engine and Drive Discspossible for them, and here are the choices you have on Anton:

The Brimstone
This Engine can provide a massive boost to Anton’s ATK from its secondary stat and whenever heuses the Basic Attacks, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter. All these types of attacks are common for Anton, making this the best in slot.

Drill Rig - Red Axis
This is Anton’s signature Engine, and it not only provides him with some much-needed Energy Recharge, but also awhopping 50 percent Electric DMG boost on the Basicand Dash Attacks.

Starlight Engine
This is another Engine providing Anton with a ton of ATK, similar to The Brimstone, though theextra boost here triggers with Dodge Counterand Quick Assist.

Cannon Rotor
This battle pass weapon can also be decent on Anton simply because of theCrit Rate boost from the secondary stat, which stacks with the boost from his passive upgrades.

[Lunar] Noviluna
Finally, if you don’t have any of the above Engines, you may use this B-tier one togive Anton some Crit Rate and energy regen.
Synergy With Anton
Thunder Metal
If you want to use a 4pc on Anton, this is your best choice as it gives him sole Electric DMG while also increasing his ATK against Shocked enemies. Of course,you’ll need a reliable Electric Anomaly builderfor this to work properly.
2pc Woodpecker Electro
This set can be used to get some extra Crit Rate on Anton as a 2pc,especially if you’re using the Drill Rig Engineto give him the energy regen.
2pc Swing Jazz
Finally, you can use this 2pc if you’re havingtrouble with Anton’s energysince he consumes quite a lot of it.

Energy Regen
Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percent > PEN > Anomaly Proficiency
With the amount of Electric DMG you deal with Anton, it’scommon to putenemies in a Shocked state, making the Anomaly Proficiency useful.
Best Bangboo For Anton
Once you get to ahigh enough Inter-Knot Level, you can use these little creatures called Bangboo during battle todeal some extra damage and provide your party with buffs in some cases. You can only use one Bangboo during combat, and here are the best ones for Anton:
Plugboo/Electroboo
These are only worth it if you have at least one extra Electric character with Anton, and itincreases the Anomaly Buildup from its attacksif this condition is met.
Safety
If you’re planning to use multiple characters from the Belobog Industries, this Bangboo candeal increased Shock DMG to the enemy.
Bagboo
Finally, Bagboo is ageneric and free creaturethat you’re able to use if you don’t have a better one.
Anton Skill Overview And Priority
The last and most important step to building Anton isknowing what he does and where you should spend resourceson him. Essentially, Anton’s kit has two major types of attacks: Drill and Pile Driver. These attacks are triggered in the following scenarios:
Anton can increase his own damage whenever he triggers one of these attacks, which is one of the most important mechanics while playing him. Other than that,Anton can enter the burst mode with his EX special attack, which slowly consumes his energy while giving an Electric Infusion to most of his attacks.
He deals most of his damage during this burst mode, so you’d want to enter it as soon as possible and stay in it for a long time,which is why Energy Regen is a needed stat on him. Now that you know the basics about his kit, here’s the order in which you should upgrade them:
Since Anton is a DPS character, you’dwant to upgrade all his abilities.
While it’s not common to use the dodge counter on other characters, it’s one of theimportant abilities for Anton during the burst modesince he can deal a ton of damage with it.
