Summary
Despite the divisive talk ofFinal Fantasy 14’s Dawntrail Expansion, there is one thing almost universally agreed on between all players: the dungeons were vastly improved. And with each improved dungeon, an improved boss shows up as well. But dungeons aren’t the only place where fantastic fights await you.
There are plenty of bosses introduced in Dawntrail who are looking to tussle. The question is, are you ready to face them?

7The Great Serpent Of Tural
A Legend Of Two Realms
Among all the deities you’ve faced off against as the Warrior of Light, none are so mighty asThe Great Serpent. Why else would he be not only known, but revered in both The Source and The First Worlds? Not only that, they even have the same appearance. How’s that for proof?
Behold His might inside the spike-enclosed tomb as he calls forth His Bouncy Council from his own body to try and crush you for daring to venture as deep as you have. Though the fight itself doesn’t have a lot of mechanics that you have to worry about, be wary of the tiles on the floor during the Greatest Labyrinth, or you’ll wind up dead from the Greatest Curse.

6Protector
You Have To Be Quick On Your Feet
Square Enix paid attention to the feedback about the dungeons and their corresponding bosses in previous expansions by adding new mechanics for old and new players to experiencein the newest expansion. While some remained balanced, others decided to crank the bob and weave mechanics up to eleven.
The Protector that you find at the end of the Vanguard wastes no time hitting your party hard and heavy with explosive AOE attacks and Homing Cannons, which makes your party dance to avoid the onslaught. The fight is fast, frenetic, and an exciting time for anyone looking for a fun challenge.

5Black Cat
She Commands The Arena With Fierceness and Grace
Welcome to the tournament arc! Seriously, if you’ve ever wanted to live outthe most infamous tropes in anime storytellingand fight your way to the top, the AAC Light-heavyweight M1 Tournament offers it all. Your first opponent, like you, is a rookie looking to win her first championship.
Black Cat comes hitting hard and heavy with an arsenal of moves with the most adorable names. Mouser, for example, is several AOE attacks that can break the glass floor under you, while Biscuit Maker (cute!) is a deadly tankbuster.

4Honey B. Lovely
Can You Resist Her Bee-witching Charms?
Honey B. Lovely has enthralled anyone who has laid eyes on her or even just heard one of her songs. Once she has you under her spell, she’ll make you feel like you are the center of the universe… right before she poisons and kills you with her intoxicating venom.
But not before she makes you dance! You’ll have to duck and dodge everything she throws at you, because all of her attacks are Raid-wide AOE attacks, and even her die-hard fans get in on the action, by launching attacks of their own from the sidelines. Don’t fall victim to her charms.

3Wicked Thunder
Fighting For Your Soul
The champion who abandoned the fighting lifestyle has returned for one thing - your soul. It isn’t made clear why, but you know she means business. With the permission of the Arcadian President, the fight is on! Known as the Esoteric Witch, she commands power over both electricity and machina, and her battle takes heavy references from Ixion, the Unicorn thunder god from Final Fantasy 10.
She will transform at certain times to gain the ability to fly for a short amount of time, and she uses this to her full advantage with the move Bewitching Flight, a flying multi-AOE attack that not only comes from her but all the clones she produces on the field. She’s going to put you through the wringer for sure, but you have to pull through.

2Zoraal Ja Ja
The Now-King Of Revenge
When you hold a strong assumption, and live your life believing it for many years, only to have it unceremoniously snatched away from you, it’s bound to create a fire of anger inside you. It’s up to you how you utilize that flame; some will rise to the occasion and become bigger than themselves, while others will try and make up for their weakness in destructive ways. Zoraal Ja is a tale of the latter.
He channels all that rage and the power of living souls into all of his attacks. Zoraal Ja has very strong willpower, meaning that when you think you’ve taken him down, he pulls even more strength from his well of souls and starts a whole new phase, complete with new moves to throw at the party. Once you show him the strength of your will, you’ll eventually surpass him, but at what cost?
