Summary
When first startingDungeons of Hinterberg, it’s easy to think that the combat in the game is quite basic, especially during the very simple introductory dungeon. However, this all changes once magic and attack conduits are introduced.
Attack Conduits are new abilities that are unlocked throughout your time exploring Hinterberg, with some easy to acquire, while others are hidden in obscure locations or late in quest lines. Either way, they are definitely not all created equal, with some simply not being as good as others. So, which will you want to be using the most throughout your adventure?

8Whirlwind
An attack that mimics the projectiles of certain witch enemies, Whirlwind is a simple attack conduit that is useful because of how easy it is to use. You’ll simply activate the ability and set off the whirlwinds, doing passive damage to any enemies they run into. The only issue is that they aren’t very accurate.
When To Use Whirlwind
The best time to equip and activate Whirlwind is when you are fighting alarge horde of enemies, especially if there are weaker enemies in the mix. If you have high enough magic damage, the whirlwinds can thin out the crowds, making the rest of the fight much easier to manage.
7Burrow
You get this attack conduit after defeating Tatzelwurm, and it’s a great reward for your effort. As the name suggests, this ability allows Luisa to burrow underground and damage any enemies that she hits while digging.
When To Use Burrow
The main issue with Burrow is that it doesn’t have the best accuracy and isn’t that easy to control. It’s best when there are lots of enemies or one slow enemy that doesn’t move too much. The damage is great, but it’s not useful if you can’t control it.
6Double Slash
Perhaps one of the most simple attack conduits you unlock throughout Dungeons of Hinterberg, Double Slash is a simple attack that sets off two projectiles that slash into the enemies you aim it at. You’ll want to make sure it’s accurate since you only get one chance, but if it hits, the damage is impressive.
When To Use Double Slash
It’s great how easily this conduit slides into combos since it is so quick and effective, and it’s perfect for doing good damage to enemies that only give you a short window to attack. It is recommended that the lock-on feature is used to ensure that it doesn’t miss.
5Blade Tornado
When you first unlock attack conduits, one that you will be given for free is Blade Tornado, which might lead you to assume that it isn’t that useful. Spinning around randomly doing small, quick bursts of damage might not seem that useful, but once you know the trick to get more damage out of this ability, you won’t want to take it out of rotation.
When To Use Blade Tornado
The simple trick to getting more damage out of Blade Tornado is to use it with the lock-on feature activated and not move at all. If you do this, the tornado will latch onto the enemy you’ve selected and bounce around them specifically, doing massive damage, and if they’re defeated, it’ll automatically lock onto the closest target.
4Ravenous Hunger
One of the most frustrating types of enemy to fight in Dungeons of Hinterberg, especially later in the game, is shielded enemies. The shields make them harder to take down and give them ample opportunity to attack you. That is why Ravenous Hunger is great. It immediately destroys all shields and converts them into HP and MP for Luisa.
When To Use Ravenous Hunger
The main drawback to Ravenous Hunger is that it isn’t particularly multifunctional and will only be useful against enemies with shields. However, it is perfect when facing these enemies since it cuts down the time you’ll be fighting them massively.
3Tinker Toy
If you choose to get to a Level one friendship with Hinterberg’s resident sculptor, Henning, you’ll be rewarded with the attack conduit Tinker Toy. This conduit is unique for working as a decoy, attracting nearby enemies for a short time, and then dealing good damage with an explosion.
When To Use Tinker Toy
Some of the toughest encounters throughout Dungeons of Hinterberg are against strong hordes of enemies, but they’ll easily take this bait, giving you time to heal and attack them while distracted. Just verify you save it for when you need a breather in the fight.
2Meteor Shower
If you want a quick method for dealing a lot of damage, then Meteor Shower is one of the best attack conduits to equip. The effect is simple, letting you set off an AOE field of meteors which deals stun and damage to any enemies caught in the range.
When To Use Meteor Shower
This conduit is great for both groups of enemies and single targets since it’ll do great damage to either. The only drawback is that it’s a little tricky to aim, but once you understand how to position it, you’ll have a new skill to quickly deal damage.
1Butterfly Barrage
The reason whyButterfly Barrageis arguably the best attack conduit in Dungeons of Hinterberg is how versatile and impactful the ability is. Giving you a large purple sphere, you can aim and move around, placing the sphere over different enemies and watching the butterflies rain powerful explosions over anything caught in the middle.
When To Use Butterfly Barrage
Equally as effective against crowdsas it is bosses, Butterfly Barrage will likely not leave Luisa’s side after you unlock it. The only drawback is that you are not fully immune when you are aiming the skill, so ensure you keep moving so you don’t get knocked out of the skill early.
