While the main method of getting new characters inZenless Zone Zeromight be taking part in the gacha system, the game still gives you quite a few of them for free. Thankfully, even the free starter characters can carry you past the endgame, and Anby Demara is one of the perfect examples of that.
Anby is a four-star Electric character with Stun as her specialty. If you want to have consistency while using this character in battle, you’ll have to look for some specific stats that you wouldn’t normally look for in a regular DPS.
Best Anby Builds
Since you can get this character completely for freequite early in the game, the first order of business is tofind the perfect W-Engine and Drive Discs for her. Thankfully, one of the best choices for the former is also given to you for free:

The Restrained
If you can get your hands on this S-tier W-Engine, it’ll be the best choice for Anby as it can give her extra Impactwhile also giving her more Daze DMG from Basic Attacks, which is the main source of her damage.

Hellfire Gears
This is also an S-tier Engine, which already gives it higher base stats than the lower rarity. However, to use this one,you’ll have to keep Anby off-field most of the time, which isn’t necessarily her style.

Steam Oven
This Engine works alongside your EX Special Attack as it gives you extra Energy Regen while alsoincreasing your Impact based on the Energy, serving as the perfect A-tier choice for her.

Precious Fossilized Core
As long as you can dodge enemy attacks and keep Anby at high health, this Enginecan give you up to 20 percent extra Daze DMGalongside the Impact from its secondary stat.

Demara Battery Mark II
Even though this is Anby’s signature Engine, it doesn’t provide her too much utility since theEnergy Regen aspect can be quite difficult to trigger.

[Vortex] Arrow
When it comes to the B-tier choices, Arrow is your best bet as it canincrease your Daze to the main enemy by 12 percentwhile also increasing your overall Impact.
Synergy With Anby
Shockstar Disco
When it comes to the four-piece choice for Anby, this set is both her best and the only choice as itincreases her Impact and Daze from Basic Attacks, which is her main source of Daze application.
2-pc Swing Jazz
If you want to use Anby’s EX Special Skill as much as possible, the two-piece from this set can help you a ton with that byproviding you with 20 percent extra Energy Regen.
2-pc Woodpecker Electro
On the other hand, if you’re having a problem having a decent Crit Ratio on Anby, you’d want to go withthis one for the extra Crit Rate.
Impact
Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percen > PEN
Anby doesn’t have a lot of sub-stats that you can get to improve her Daze efficiency, which is whyyou’d want to go for Crit on her sub-stats.
This will make her deal alot more damage than she normally wouldif you simply made her a stun support.
Best Bangboo For Anby
While there are good Bangboos that you can use with Anby, the Bangboo choice depends on your overall team. There might be times when you’ll have touse a Bangboo that doesn’t necessarily synergize with herin battle, but does well with the other two characters. Though when it comes to Anby, here are her best choices:
Sumoboo
This is the best Bangboo for Anby,though it only serves herunless you’re using multiple Stun characters. It can boost the amount of Daze you apply on the enemy.
Amillion
If you’re using multiple Cunning Hares in the team, thisBangboo can deal increased Chain Attack DMGas long as there are three or fewer enemies on the field.
Plugboo/Electroboo
These Bangboos are perfect if you’re using Anby in a team with other Electric units, especially if you’re usingcharacters like Grace,who rely on building Anomaly quickly.
Anby Skill Overview And Priority
Even after building Anby with the best gear possible, youwon’t be able to do much with her unless you understand her kit properly. As you might already know, Anby’s kit revolves aroundbuilding the Daze baron the enemy as fast as possible, even though she can deal quite a lot of damage while doing that.
The general combo you’d want to use with Anby is using three of her basic attacks,followed by a charged attack, and ending with the Special or EX Special Skill. Not only does this give you the most damage, but it also increases the daze you apply by a whopping 64 percent due to her special passive.
This passive increases her Daze from her charged attack and special skillsas long as they’re used after the third basic attack.
The rest of Anby’s abilities are standalone as they can’t enjoy this extra Daze, but theycan still contribute to the Daze meter if you use them correctly. With that in mind, here’s the best order to upgrade Anby’s abilities:
