8Metagross Prerelease $16.80
A Card For Prerelease Attendees
First off is a Metagross card that has many unique properties. It is part of the Team Plasma set of cards, which have very distinct blue borders as well as the Team Plasma logo as a watermark where the move pool is. These cards could synergize with other Team Plasma-specific cards during this card’s lifespan.
Not all Team Plasma Metagross are worth the same though, with this one being part of a prerelease. In the Pokemon TCG, this means that those cards have a special stamp on the art box indicating that it is a prerelease card, giving itthat extra bit of scarcityand bumping up the price.

7M Metagross EX $17.16
The Power Of Mega Evolution
Mega Evolutionis one of the most beloved Pokemon game mechanics. and in the Pokemon TCG, Mega Evolutions can take your strongest Pokemon to the next level. However, this does come at the cost of ending your turn the moment you perform the Mega Evolution. Usually, this meant players waiting for the right moment to bring it out and giving up their attack for the turn.
In return, you get a Powerful Pokemon like Metagross. This printing also gives it a shiny coloring, which makes it even more gorgeous to look at. This Steel-type Pokemon has one move; Gatling Slug. It does 130 damage and an additional ten more for each Steel Energy attached to Mega Metagross EX.

6Metagross Holo Rare $18.40
A Metagross That Makes You Do Math
One Metagross that has that classic holo foiling was released in the Deoxys expansion of the Pokemon TCG. It has similar abilities to other Metagross that would come out years later. Its Pokepower allows it to search the discard pile for a Psychic or Steel Energy card. you may then attach it to your Active Pokemon and the low cost of one damage counter.
Metagross’s only attack is Link Blast. This move does 40 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon. However, if both Metagross and your opponent’s Pokemon have the same amount of Energy cards attached, it does 70 instead. This is why math is so important.

5Metagross Delta Species $22.64
Delta Species Rise Up
The Delta Species set introduced a new mechanic to the Pokemon TCG. These Pokemon are unique in how they have different typing or even have two typings as opposed to just one. This is interesting since it allows some Pokemon to hit two different weaknesses during a match. The set contained an Electric/Steel-type Metagross.
With its Pokepower, Delta Control, Metagross lets you look at the top four cards of your deck and select one to add to your hand. Crush and Burn is a move that costs one Energy from both of its types. It does 30 damage plus 20 more for each Energy you decide to discard when using this move.

4Metagross EX $52.23
Hits Harder The Second Time
In Hidden Legends, an ultra-rare printing of Metagross entered the fight. This one may not have any passive abilities, but its moves do allow you to either beef up this Pokemon or force your opponent into a tricky situation.
For one Steel Energy and one Colorless, Metal Reversal will switch out your opponent’s Defending Pokemon with one from their Bench, and they get to choose which one gets sent to the chopping block, and that Pokemon then takes 40 damage. However, the more expensive move is Extra Comet Punch, which hits harder after the first time you use it, as it does 50 damage the first time, then another 50 when you use it again the following turn.

3Metagross EX $54.93
Shuffles Your Opponent’s Hand
Another more expensive version of Metagross EX can be found in the Power Keepers set. It also has some of the more unique abilities compared to other printed cards of the same name. Its Pokepower, Magnetic Redraw, allows you to shuffle both your and your opponent’s cards back into the deck and you both draw four cards.
For two Steel Energy and one Colorless, Scanblast can easily take care of duplicates on your opponent’s board. So, if your opponent has two other Pokemon with the same name as their Defending Pokemon, they all take the damage, allowing you to possibly get more than one Prize Card in one turn.

2Metagross Prerelease Staff Card $99.99
A Card For Those Who Help In Events
While this Metagross may seem the same as the other prerelease card, the stamp makes all the difference. Staff promos are reserved for judges and organizers who help run the TCG tournaments at specific venues. It’s a neat little reward for helping prerelease events run smoothly.
This Metagross has an ability called Plasma Search. It allows you to search out any Team Plasma card and add it to your hand. This can be great for getting specific Pokemon onto your bench or searching out a Trainer card that you want to use during your turn. For four Energy, you can use Mind Bend which deals 60 damage and leaves your opponent’s Pokemon Confused.

1Metagross Star $399.98
The Most Valuable Metagross Card
Inthe Delta Species expansionof the Pokemon TCG, the most expensive Metagross card would emerge. This is Metagross Star. This Star Pokemon acts much like the radiant Pokemon in the modern game with only one copy being allowed in your deck. It is featured as its shiny variant with a silver steel body and golden detailing.
For one Steel Energy, Critical Collection does ten damage and lets you attach Energy from your discard pile up to the same amount of Prize Cards your opponent has taken. This can help you accumulate the cost needed for Hyper Beam, which does 50 damage and lets you flip a coin to see if you may discard one of your opponent’s Energy cards.
