As a Sapper, Nor Vanek is capable of using a wide variety of weapons inFlintlock: The Siege Of Dawn. With a full kit, she can bring an impressive array of armaments to bear, adapting to the situation at hand. In fact, there are so many good weapon choices in the game that it can be hard to decide which ones to upgrade.
We’ve listed our picks for the most effective weapons across all types in Flintlock. Whether you prefer a tailored, specialized approach or an all-around method, you can’t go wrong with these implements of destruction.

10Marauder’s Pistol
Sometimes, You Only Need One Shot
The Marauder’s Pistol only has one bullet, but it has thehighest damage rating of any pistol in the game.In fact, it hits as hard as a musket, making it a near-guaranteed kill against basic enemies.
The Marauder’s Pistolpairs well with the Sapper’s armor setandNor’s Axe, which allow you to quickly refill its lone powder charge and keep firing.

9Ripper Grenade
Armor? What Armor?
The Ripper Grenade is an important part of your strategy because it’s one of the few armaments thatinflicts Bleed on enemies.Bleedignores Armor when dealing damage, so opening a fight against an armored foe with a Ripper Grenade tossed at their feet will speed things up tremendously.
Undead enemies are immune to Bleed, so pick a different grenade against the shambling hordes.

As with all grenades, it’s important tostay clear of the blast radiusand toremember to switch your item slot back to the Healing Flaskbefore charging in to engage.
8Ricochet Cannon
The Closest Thing You’ll Get To A Machine Gun
The Ricochet Cannon can be a little tough to use, but in the right situations it can save you an entire fight for the cost of a single bullet. When you’re aiming with this weapon, look for dots to appear on enemies that are clustered together. The bullet will bounce between all highlighted targets.
Getting the drop on a patrolling group of enemies with a loaded Ricochet Cannon often means dispatching them before they notice you, or at least taking out two minions before attacking an armored leader.

7Herald’s Blade
An Elegant Weapon From A More Civilized Age
Defeating theStone Heraldin Three Peaks earns you this ornate sword. It’s unimpressive on its own, but it rewards skilled players tremendously. If you’re a master of soulslike games already, the Herald’s Blade could be your ace in the hole.
The Herald’s Bladedeals more damage the higher your Reputation bonus climbs. In other words, the longer you go without taking damage or resting, the more melee damage you’ll deal. Even better, you get larger Reputation bonus modifiers while the Herald’s Blade is equipped, letting you unlock skills faster and deal more damage… provided your streak doesn’t come to an end.

6Nor’s Axe
Simple, Efficient, And Deadly
Flintlock isn’t one of those games where your starting weapon is trash. Nor’s Axekeeps pace with other melee weaponsas it’s upgraded, making it a perfectly viable option to stick with you throughout the campaign.
The main advantage to keeping Nor’s Axe is that ithas longer, faster combo attacks. That means you can regain black powder charges faster, get more hits in before having to back off, and build up enemy Prime Gauges efficiently. Not bad for starter gear.

5Shock Grenade
Flashbangs And Frock Coats
While it isn’t particularly useful against bosses, the Shock Grenade shines against groups of regular enemies. The blastbuilds up affected foes' Prime Gaugesalmost to full, allowing you to quickly dispatch them in sequence with a series of Critical Strikes.
Since enemies who are fully Primedalso become stunned for several seconds, the Shock Grenade combined with strategic use of Enki’s attacks can turn a horde fight into a casual (if bloody) walk in the park.

4Marksman’s Musket
No Scope? No Problem!
The Marksman’s Musket is the first secondary firearm that you’ll receive in the game, and it serves as a sniper rifle throughout the campaign. As long as you have the time to line up your aim, you candrop most enemies with a single shot to the head.
Armored enemies can survive a headshot, but it will still take out a significant chunk of their health. The Marksman’s Musket iseven useful against bosses, as it can interrupt charging for powerful magic attacks. This is one weapon you’ll want to keep equipped all the time.

3Skirmisher’s Pistol
The Finest Flintlock
This three-barreled pistol doesn’t offer a ton of hitting power, but its other traits make it so useful that it will probably be your main sidearm once you acquire it. To start with, it hasmore ammo than any other pistol, making it a great choice for late-game bosses against whom you need to rely on interrupts. Its real power, though, is in making everyday combat a breeze.
Shooting a standard enemy with the Skirmisher’s Pistolwhile you’re sprinting, sliding, or jumpingknocks them down, allowing you to hack away at them as they struggle to stand.Rushing straight at a foeand blasting them at point-blank range becomes a very viable strategy!

2Harbinger’s Axe
Heating Up The Battlefield
The Harbinger’s Axeinflicts Burn on enemies that it hits, causing them to take damage over time. This can be a huge time-saver, and even help wear down bosses. Every little bit helps!
It’s important to note that while armored enemies can be affected by Burn, itdoesn’t do any damage to them until their armor is removed. For those foes, you need something with a little more brute force…

1Judge’s Hammer
And Stay Down!
Your reward for completing theShot In The Darkside quest in writ, the Judge’s Hammer is an essential weapon. Its main purpose is todeal extra damage against armored enemies, helping you defeat them without the need to build up their Prime Gauge.
The Judge’s Hammer may be slow, especially on its third and final combo strike, but its high Stun turns one-on-one fights into a breeze, armor or no armor. With this weapon, it’s easy toconsistently knock down lone enemies, hitting them without giving them a chance to strike back. Your health and Reputation Bonus are safe with the Judge’s Hammer in your hands!
