Summary

With no games or movies on the horizon forSpider-Man, this year’s Spider-Man Day kind of came and went without much fervor. It’s August 1, by the way, and as far as I can tell, Funko was the only company that marked the occasion. It did that by releasing a new Superior Spider-Man Funko Pop, and while it wasn’t officially revealed, the first images of a cel-shaded Spider-Man and Venom two-pack that’s expected to be a D23 exclusive also found their way online.

Let’s stick with the Funko Pop that’s officially been revealed for now, Superior Spider-Man. If you’re unfamiliar with the origins of Superior Spider-Man and think the figure looks a little like Spidey and Doctor Octopus had a Funko Pop baby, there’s a good reason for that. It’s not Peter Parker inside the suit. It’s not even Miles Morales. It’s Otto Octavius, and this is the first time the villain’s take on Spidey has been turned into a Pop for a very long time.

Superior Spider-Man Funko Pop

The Superior Spider-Man Funko Pop is more intricately detailed than the prior figure based on the Spidey variant, and it also includes more of the machinery Doc Ock used to make the suit his own. You can pre-order the Pop now on Amazon for $15 ahead of its release on July 30, 2025. Now, onto the Spider-Man and Venom two-pack. A fantastic-looking pair of figures that we got a first look at this week, we just don’t know when we’ll be able to buy them.

Superior Spider-Man, Superior Funko Pop

Superior Spider-Man Funko Pop

Superior Spider-Man is a variant of the web-slinger with Doctor Octopus inside. This version of Spidey’s Funko Pop has a sharper, more detailed design than the Pop to come before it with visible mechanical parts and eyes more akin to the ones found on the most famous of Spidey suits.

The Spidey figure in the set comes with a transparent stand to make him look like he’s in mid-air, either leaping up or about to land. As unique as Spider-Man looks, the Venom he comes with steals the show. Much like we’ve seen so much in the comics and the movies, the symbiote is letting its host peek out from underneath it, making it look like the Funko Pop has been covered in thick paint, the alien’s long tongue running along the underside of the figure’s head.

If the two-pack’s official reveal is being saved for D23, we won’t have long to wait to find out when it will be released and how much it will cost as the event begins on August 9. Even if it’s dubbed a D23 exclusive, it should still be available to buy for those who won’t be in attendance. A lot of new Funko Popswere labeled San Diego Comic-Con exclusives this year, but all of them found their way onto the Funko store during SDCC weekend. You’ll have to be vigilant though as most of them sold out fast, and that will almost certainly be the case for Spidey and Venom.
