Star Wars Outlawswill take place across a few different planets and moons such asTatooineand Toshara, but don’t worry about the map being too big. Creative director Julian Gerighty revealed that each world is equivalent to two or three zones inAssassin’s Creed Odysseyand that most will only take five minutes to cross on a speeder.
“[It] doesn’t sound like a lot, but once you’re committed it’s a fairly large amount, and you are always going to be distracted,” Gerighty said in an interview withIGN. “We don’t want things to be just big for big sake. We need it to be contained, always fun, always proposing different activities.

Tatooine “May Be A Little Bit Larger”
Gerighty specifically said that Toshara would take four or five minutes to cross, but he revealed that it’s “very close in size to Akiva and Tatooine”, although the iconic desert planet is a “little bit larger”.
That means these three planets should all take around four or five minutes to cross in a speeder, a breath of fresh air considering how enormous Ubisoft’s open worlds have been getting lately.
It does leave two planets up in the air, however—Kijimi and Cantonica. We don’t know if they will be smaller than Akiva, Tatooine, and Toshara, or if they will be larger. It could be that it takes less time to cross these two in a speeder, or they could be more or less the same.
Ubisoft stressed that with Outlaws, it wants to focus on quality over quantity, so it seems likely that they’d be of a similar size, if not a little larger like with Tatooine, but we’ll just have to wait and see.Star Wars Outlaws launches next month on August 30.
