Summary

Star Wars Outlawsdoesn’t let you shoot Nix, but there is a special interaction that happens whenever Kay aims her gun at the loveable merqaal.

Although Star Wars is mostly known for Jedi, lightsabers, space battles, and one of the most complicated family trees in film history, there’s one thing it does better than anything else - its strange little guys. Ever since A New Hope, Star Wars has been trotting out some of the cutest creatures this side of the galaxy,a trend that continues in Star Wars Outlaws.

Kay Vess can run into a ton of adorable weirdoes in Star Wars Outlaws, but there’s one that stands far above the rest.I am, of course, talking about her constant companion Nix, a merqaal that has been travelling with her for most of her life and acts as both a best friend and a valuable asset during battles. He’s also quite the comedian, which is seen if you try and shoot him.

Nix Has A Special Animation If You Try To Shoot Him In Star Wars Outlaws

We’ve already reported in the past that Star Wars Outlaws doesn’t let you shoot, rob, or hurt civilian NPCS, with Kay not even able to aim her gun at them. The same is somewhat true of Nix, who can’t be harmed by the player by any means. Not that you’d want to do that, you absolute monsters.

If you do get a bit trigger-happy and aim your gun at Nix to see what happens, you’ll get a unique interaction between Kay and Nix.As showcased by YouTuber AZZATRU, Kay can point her gun at Nix, getting his attention after a few seconds of holding it there, which then leads to her imitating a gun being fired at her best friend.

If pointing a gun at Nix isn’t your speed then don’t worry too much, as you’re able to also just choose to pet him without scaring the bejesus out of him.

In response, Nix will adorably pretend to play dead in a similar manner to what he does when you ask him to distract enemies for you. There are a few unique voicelines that will play when Nix does this, which mostly just have Kay telling him what a good job he’s done. It seems the pair have been practising this trick for a while…
