Star Wars Eclipse Has Had Many Development Problems Already

Now, development on the game could have taken another hit, as Lead Writer Adam Williams has left Quantic Dream and Star Wars Eclipse behind.

Adam Williams Leaves Quantic Dream To Form His Own Studio

Williams, who was also Lead Writer on 2018’s Detroit: Become Human, announced onLinkedIntoday that he would be leaving the Canadian studio to form his own development house.

His message reads, “After almost 10 years at Quantic Dream, I am leaving to found a new studio – together with a group of very talented designers and developers. We can’t say too much just yet. We are working on something very innovative, very special and, for now, very secret. More on that soon.” After thanking Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm, Williams continues, “A big thank you to the team, for taking this leap with us - and to the investors, for being the ideal partners on the next adventure. More on that, also, soon.”

From Williams' message, it appears that he left Quantic Dream on good terms, and the game’s complex development didn’t force his hand.

Williams' departure, however, is the latest in along line of issues that have plagued Star Wars Eclipse’s development. Shortly after its reveal, fans began a boycott of the game followingQuantic Dream’s alleged homophobia and racism. The title, which isset to change Quantic Dream’s usual formula, has alreadyfaced numerous leaksand is reportedly due to releaseno sooner than 2027.
