Summary

It might be time to start worrying aboutSony’slatest live-service venture,Concord. That’s because, after failing to reach 1,000 concurrent players on Steam on its launch day– something it still hasn’t done – the game is rapidly losing its player base. That, in turn, is starting to impact players' ability to launch into games.

As we reported on Friday,Concord hadn’t yet reached 1,000 concurrent players, according tothe data housed at SteamDB, a website dedicated to tracking all things related to Steam, including player counts and price charting. After a weekend of availability, things aren’t much better.

Concord Player Counts On August 26

At the time of publication, only 260 players are currently in the game via Steam. Over the last 24 hours, the peak was just 303 players, down from the 697 all-time peak.

Even more drastic, at one point, the player count was at just 138 gamers. It stands to reason that, at some point, the game could inch into the double digits, potentially by the end of the week.

Concord Lowest Player Count

Of course, it’s important to note that these numbers simply reflect player counts onSteam. There’s a good chance that things could be drastically different on thePlayStationside, though, that is highly unlikely.

Players Are Struggling To Get Into Games

The reason why that is unlikely is that players have already begun reporting struggles with finding games to jump into. Over on Reddit, players shared their experiences with matchmaking after launch weekend, and the results aren’t pretty.

Elsewhere, a separate thread popped up,lamenting the ability to find rivalry games. Thatmode received an XP boost, granting players 15K XP, likely in hopes of swaying players over.

Only time will tell which route Sony and Firewalk Studios opt to take in the wake of these player totals. It’s perhaps too early to turn the game into a free-to-play title, though that surely seems like the most likely route at some point. Either way, it’s an unfortunate turn of events, no matter how you look at it.
