Summary
A couple of months ago, the second half of 2024 looked pretty quiet on the video game front. All of a sudden we’ve got new Astro, Zelda, and Mario games to look forward to among so many others.Sonic x Shadow Generationsis still to come as well, and if you haven’t already placed a pre-order for the reimagined version of Sonic Generations,Segahas revealed it will throw something in to sweeten the deal and perhaps tempt a few more of you to commit to the game early.
Now if you pre-order a physical copy of Sonic x Shadow Generations, you will get a reversible cover thrown in. Sega shared on social media at the end of last week that fans had been demanding the game’s Japanese cover art be an option for all, and that it had caved to that demand and a reversible cover will now be the standard. Well, provided you pre-order, and that pre-order is for a physical copy since a digital one naturally won’t include a cover at all, let alone a reversible one.
I had not seen the Japanese cover art for Sonic x Shadow Generations until the Sega post in which both it and the regular cover art are both shown and I have to say, I fall firmly on the side of those who prefer the Japanese artwork. While the regular cover has Shadow running between Sonic’s retro and modern designs, the Japanese alternative has a yin and yang feel to it, Sonic at the top with light blue to the left, and Shadow underneath and upside down with black and red to the right.
I Can See Why You All Wanted The Reversible Cover
I’m a big fan of a reversible cover and fans having the option to change the look of their games should they choose to do so. I will be switching that cover around as soon as my copy of Sonic x Shadow Generations arrives on October 25. The bonus joins the pre-existing one that comes with all editions of Sonic x Shadow, physical or otherwise - a legacy skin for the remaster’s modern Sonic. You can also.
Shortly after pre-orders for Sonic x Shadow Generations went live,a collector’s edition for the game was revealed. Quite a reasonably priced collector’s edition considering its centerpiece is a statue of Shadow’s head. Sonic x Shadow Generations will be released on October 25, but the hype for the game is already building at a steady rate. Likely because Sega wants as many people as possible to be familiar with Shadow before he plays a key role inSonic the Hedgehog 3this December.
