Summary
Before 2024 is done, we’ll have new Zelda, Astro, and Mario & Luigi games, not to mention a revitalized remaster of Sonic Generations. DubbedSonic x Shadow Generations, the remaster with additional content will be released on all major platforms on October 25, and if you haven’t placed your pre-order yet but plan to play the game onPC, you can currently pick up the next Sonic game for less for a limited time.
Fanatical, which sells codes for games onSteam, has knocked more than ten percent off Sonic x Shadow Generations pre-orders. Whether you want the digital deluxe edition or just the regular one, Fanatical has the game for less. It’s unclear how long this deal will be live for though, so take some inspiration from Sonic and go fast. Fanatical usually has a countdown clock on its deals, but Sonic x Shadow’s store page doesn’t have one so the deal could expire at any moment.

Sonic x Shadow Generations is a cheaper game than most even at full price, costing $50 rather than the industry standard $70. I don’t believe any Sonic game has been $70 yet, and a remaster with some Shadow content being the first to make that leap would have been a mistake. With the Fanatical discount applied, Sonic x Shadow’s price is brought down to less than $44. If you grab the digital deluxe edition, which usually costs $60, you’ll get it for less than $53.

WHERE TO PLAY
Sonic X Shadow Generations is a double package of a remastered version of the 2011 title Sonic Generations, alongside an all-new campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog and both 2D and 3D levels.
While all in-game bonuses, Sonic x Shadow’s digital deluxe edition comes with quite a lot for the extra $10, or in this case the extra $3. A digital artbook and soundtrack, extra skins, and three days of early access. The one bonus you won’t get with the digital deluxe edition if bought through Fanatical is the game’s exclusive prologue animations. Those are exclusive to thePlayStation’s digital deluxe edition.
Sonic x Shadow is just one, admittedly very big, part of whatfans have dubbed the Year Of Shadow. The black and red hedgehog has been celebrated viaLegosets,Funko Pops, and just this weeknew additions to the Sonic Sakura range. It all culminates with Shadow making his big screen debut inSonic The Hedgehog 3this December.
