The summer break during which very few video games are released is about to come to an end.Black Myth: Wukonglaunches today and the release slate will keep getting gradually more busy until what is shaping up to be a loaded October. Among the many big games hitting multiple platforms this October isSonic x Shadow Generations, and if you were already trying to figure out how exactly you’re going to afford all of the big games launching that month, I come bearing bad news.
Segahas teamed up with Limited Run Games for a very special Sonic x Shadow collector’s edition. Yes, you’re right, the souped-up remastertechnically already has a collector’s edition, but it’s nothing like this one. This one comes with a lot of stuff, much of which is a tip of the cap to theSonic Adventuregames, the second of which was where Shadow made his debut. The centerpiece of LRG’s collector’s edition is a Dreamcast statue, the platform the Sonic Adventure games are most synonymous with, with Sonic and Shadow standing on top of it.
That’s not the only homage to Sega’s final console included in the collector’s edition. There’s also a commemorative Dreamcast jewel case which has been designed to look like a copy of Sonic x Shadow Generations if it were to be released on the retro console. Plus, even though you won’t have a Chao Garden to keep them in, there are three Chao figurines included with the game. That’s still just the tip of the iceberg as the CE also has Sonic and Shadow shoe keychains, a physical copy of the game’s OST, and everything else you’re able to see pictured below.
It Might Be A Lot Of Money, But It’s Also A Lot Of Stuff
The Sonic x Shadow Generations collector’s edition is available for pre-order now on all platforms the remaster-plus-Shadow-content will be launching on. That includesNintendo SwitchandPC, although the PC version will be slightly different from the console ones. The PC version of the collector’s edition will feature the standard edition of the game rather than the physical day one edition. It includes everything that comes with the console versions other than the Sonic Adventure skin, Gerald Robotnik’s journal, and the reversible cover.
Sega revealed thatanyone who pre-orders Sonic x Shadow Generations will get a reversible coverthat includes the Japanese release’s cover art. However, that will not apply to PC copies included with the collector’s edition.

The collector’s edition of Sonic x Shadow Generations is available to pre-order from now until June 12, 2025. The CE will ship ready for the game’s release on October 25 but might not arrive until early November.
Sonic x Shadow Generations might not feel like a release on the same level asSonic FrontiersorSonic Mania, but Sega is doing all that it can to make this feel like more than just a remaster filling its Sonic holiday slot while it doesn’t have a brand new game to offer up. That’s because less than two months after it arrives,Sonic The Hedgehog 3, a movie in which Shadow will make his big screen debut, hits theaters. What a way to cap off the Year Of Shadow that’s going to be.
