Summary

Outside of mods and community creations,The Elder ScrollsV: Skyrim hasn’t received any new content for over ten years. With tens of thousands of players still regularly hopping into the Bethesda classic, the want for something fresh is still as strong as it has ever been.

This desire for new content has led fans to come together and discuss what they’d want if there were just one more release.

Two cottage-like houses available in the Skyrim Hearthfire DLC

The first suggestion came fromEquinoxGmon Reddit, who had the idea of helping to rebuild one of the game’s existing holds, likeWinterhold.

This got the community’s cogs turning, with players building on the idea. “Go take over several mines. Get people to build a fort about it with beds for everyone. Organize a farm inside, smithy if it’s not metal ore, and supply runs so it’s a safe uni,“one fan suggested, adding that you could “Recruit stonemasons and workers to rebuild.”

Black Marsh to the left and The Pantanal to the right

Recruitment and reputation were strong themes throughout this discussion. Do something good, “People flock to your new settlement/city,” but try “to build a new place straight outta Helgen? Have at it, but you’re probably going to do a lot yourself because you’re just some crazy guy stacking stones out in the middle of nowhere.”

The big-brain ideas then really started to flow, with suggestions of city representatives, couriers, and inter-city trading flying about.

One commenter simply added, “A settlement needs your help?”

“Black Marsh, where you help the king of Black Marsh drive out slavers.”

The second suggestion comes from Portal’s very own_GLaDOS_, who suggested an expansion in the oft-forgotten Black Marsh. Alongside their initial pitch, they also suggested the province could have “an underwater city”, and would focus on “primitive weapons like spears.”

The idea was met with delight from the community. Oneplayer sharedthat they’d “absolutely love to seeArgoniansget a bit more love in the main games,” andanother theorizedthat it would “give more use to the water-breathing potions/enchantments.”

With theArgonians split into different tribes, BrandoSandoFanThosuggested thatthere could be “weapons based on different tribes, like ‘Fallen Tree Clan Tribal Spear’”. GLaDOS then added that each tribe’s weapon could be “blessed by a different Hist Tree.”

“Some post-game content dealing with the Thalmor.”

Goldman250shared, “For such a powerful organization, they [the Thalmor] do very little in the game - you broke into their embassy, and there’s very little response to that beyond an assassin or two.” They suggest “The DLC could start with you going to High Hrothgar post-game, where a group of Thalmor have been sent to assassinate you and the Greybeards. You kill them, and find a note that says they’re also going after the Blades, when you get to the Temple they’ve killed Delphine.”

Plenty of fans concurred, “I would have really liked to see them explore more thoroughly considering how important they are to the lore of TES,“one said, with afurther commentadding “Something has to close off the Thalmor inSkyrim, though, it’s too big of a faction without any real content.”

stmrjuniorsuggested that the DLC could have “a tie to Arcano”, a character who “single-handedly brought the college to its knees,” yet “by the end of the questline we still don’t really know what he was planning”.
