We may have just gotten our first look at Shadow inSonic the Hedgehog 3, as images of a set of figurines leak online. While we can’t say if the figurine set is legitimate right now, it does feature a new render of Shadow, potentially revealing how he’ll look in hisSonicmovie debut.
Better yet, fans love the new design and hope that this really is the model that will be used in Sonic 3 later this year. It’s pretty faithful to his look in the games too, only making minor changes so he fits in with the artstyle of the movie universe.
Sonic Movie Design For Shadow May Have Leaked Online
Twitter user ChrisTheCircle shared the render online earlier today. Around this time, YouTuber Mason Parkinson alsosharedthe news of the design and seemingly found the source of the leak - the online storefrontheo.com. The images are still live on the website at the time of publication.
Of course, we have already seen a movie design of Shadow, as he did briefly appear at the very end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. However, in keeping with his introduction in the games, he was found in a stasis machine. This didn’t give us a great view of him, just enough to confirm that the anti-hero would be in the next film.
We’ll have to wait and see if this is truly the Shadow design that the film is going with, but if it is, it seems like fans will be happy. The film series has managed to avoid complaints about character designs sincethe infamous ugly Sonic incident, so this wouldn’t be too surprising.
As for what has been confirmed for Sonic 3, we know thatShadow will be played by Keanu Reeves. We haven’t had a chance to hear his Shadow voice yet, but a trailer must be on the way soon, since the film is set to premiere on June 16, 2025. Reeves joins fellow new cast members Krysten Ritter, Sofia Pernas, and Alyla Browne.
